I wanted to make the community aware that I have had, in the last week plus, three men follow me and send messages that are obviously spammers asking to text them. They have been reported and all three have been deleted from my profile. Attached you will see the three male names. Be sure to report anything like this. This is a horrible place for people to be scouting out women. I expect this on a dating profile but not here!

Thanks janet
Thank You Janet, obviously you’ve dealt with this yourself but if anyone else gets similar requests please report them as Janet has done & let the Moderators know also.
And that's why HU needs to ensure there's a members search facility. If someone just likes or follows you can't click on their avatar to check can you?? I haven't found it yet if it exists.
I believe if you click on the person you would see a new page probably no post and just starting to follow people. You can only report once you open the message. I remember some statistics I heard last year regarding online dating scammers and why it's such a problem. The average woman scammed in the U.S. on a dating site is taken for nearly $80,000. That is unbelievable isn't it??? Well, apparently it is a big business.
Over the telephone my stepmother was scammed out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. (This is why I'm not rich ) She also passed all the cognitive tests done on her and all we could do was watch it happen.
All water under the bridge now, but serves us right for counting our chickens before they were hatched as we all thought the kids' student loans would be paid off and we'd kind of move up a notch in what we could do or afford, but I can't complain. Life has been good to me, even though very early on it was apparent we were never going to be as well off as either set of parents (and they really weren't wealthy, not even my father and stepmother, at that time). I'm still bemused by the claim that the "Boomer" generation has sucked up all the world's wealth. The scam event, however, set in motion a long string of stresses, major and minor, which I think ended in my going over a cliff into PMR. Could have been worse....
You can find a follower - just go into your profile and you can find those following you. As you can if they PM you.
If someone just likes a post at the moment you can’t easily find them - so at the moment the only option is to report it. Don’t think the Moderators can access their profile, but the HU admin presumably can.
The only way I can find is to look under NEW members.
You have a lovely picture and your full name. If there is any possibility you could be tracked with that info you need to change it. It’s a different world than we grew up in, a lot of bad people live on the internet.
Thanks for the info , I can't fathom the mentality of some of the members of humankind sometimes.
So sorry you got that sort of attention but don't let that put you off the forum , if it ever happens to anyone , I am sure that the hardworking Moderators and Ambassadors will instantly jump to the request for help and let the attack dogs out!
It seems they are drawn to photo avatars but not exclusively. It said mostly men to women but some women also trying to use HU and "dating website". I can't remember which forum it was.
Always report siran & let a Moderator know please, as we do get reports to us via PM so it helps us to see if there’s a pattern.
