Hello everyone. Am prone to UTIs and don't like the ADCal tabs as they are grainy/gritty. I take a Soldar Vit D, but what dose is advisable, and what brand, type and dose of calcium does anyone advise please. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

ADCal alternatives?
Hi, I had the same problem and I take 2000 IU of Vitamin D3, K2 (as oral spray) and 450 mg of Calcium Citrate (at either lunch or dinner, since I have Prednisolone in the morning). I used to take 4000 IU of vitamin D3, but my levels were getting high, so I reduced it to the current one.
I eat dairy, but when I tried going dairy-free for a few months, I took 450 mg of CC twice a day.
I take 4000 IU vit D all year round - I need that much to keep my blood level in a decent range. Without it the level falls slowly but steadily until I am deficient again.
I gave up calcium supplements because of bladder irritation - cystitis due to grit forming in urine. I didn't replace them, just eat more calcium-containing foods. My husband had to have calcium citrate - as a liquid which soles the gritty feel. And probably also the grit in urine problem! But expensive since it won't be prescribed.
Hi Temoral. I don't have a problem with UTIs but recently read o n here about Mannose-D which several people endorsed. Good luck with everything
