hi all,
i had a laparoscopy and cystoscopy yesterday afternoon which showed i have a raging bladder infection and adhesions all over my pelvis. i’m feeling slightly overwhelmed as nothing abnormal has ever showed up on a scan or in bloods/urine samples, which is why my gyno was really uncertain about doing the lap. she was absolutely adamant that she wouldn’t find anything, it has literally taken 4 months to convince her, even though she had other senior gynos and doctors telling her that a lap was the right thing to do. she removed the adhesions and i’ve started iv antibiotics but now i’m just wondering what the next step would be for me. i’m aware that it’s common for adhesions to regrow and i’ve been in pain for over a year now so i’m really nervous about that happening. i’m due to see my gyno in about an hour so hopefully she’ll enlighten me but i also just wanted to say that if you think you would benefit from a laparoscopy PLEASE don’t be afraid to keep asking about it. for some reason laparoscopies are really tricky to get (especially at the moment due to covid) but gyno’s are not always right about what you need and no one knows your body better than yourself! if you think something’s not right then it probably isn’t.
