Pelvic Pain, Gastro????

I just started to have pelvic pain (as well as stomach and abdominal - doesn’t feel so great after I eat / like too much acid and my abdomen feels swollen and hurts; noises too) since the 12th of July. I did have two sets of transvaginal ultrasounds and abdominal ultrasounds which showed nothing. My gyno referred me to a gastro who ordered a CT of abdomen and pelvis with contrast and saw nothing.

So now I have a colonoscopy scheduled for this Weds.

Some of my family thinks it will at least explain the abdominal pain but...

It’s the pelvic pain I hate the most. I was tomd I had a UTI the last time I went in somewhere (this past Fri) because of the dip atick they used. They gave me antibiotics just to tell me three days later that the “culture did not grow” so, I didn’t have a UTI. I was asymptomatic for a UTI anyway as all I have is prlvc pain. Before that, I was told I had Vaginitis and given Metrogel (spelling?). I took the nightly course of antibiotics for that. I’m on Junel birth control where I take it repeatedly without having a period. I asked my gyno if that could be the reason for my pain eventhough I’ve been doing this for almost a yr and she didn’t seem convinced. I know that a laparoscopy can show more than any ultrasound or CT but I’m reading posts that are making me feel like I’m not going to find an answer... even with that. Or the colonoscopy I’m doing on Weds.

During the beginning of this pain O did have a bowel movement that rocked my foundation and made horrible noises come out if me... So I am wondering if a colonoscopy can find something down there. Just looking for any advice

I was researching IBS last night... can that cause pelvic pain? Like period cramp pain?

Having a Colonoscopy is one of the best tests you can have to show if there is anything there or not. Do ask for the sedative though.

It could just be something as simple as IBS/ PN. Just be patient and wait until you've had this test,to see where you stand. 🤞🍀

Thank you 😞 I’m terrified... I woke up today finding it hard to breathe and calm down. I don’t know how I’m going to sit calmly in the waiting room. I can’t catch my breath today and the procedure is tomorrow. What is IBS/PN?

That's understandable anyone who says there not frightened of tests would be lying. Have you been given the (can't remember the name) but the drink to clear yourself out? You can put a drop of orange squash in it if you don't like the taste. Just remember it's your body you can say stop at any time. I'm not trying to worry you, just relax you,by keeping that in mind. Just remember to ask for the sedative because they don't always offer. It's a good test to have though.

Well IBS,in my opinion is a syndrome of anything ,food intolerance etc etc. PN,is prudential Neuralgia, but like I say just wait until you know your results tomorrow. They may tell you straight after.

Hey

I have just read ur post and it was like reading something id written.

I have had all these test and mine started out with a poop that literally made me see stars!

I had a colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, laparoscopy, ct scan, internal, gynaes and gastro and hernia specialists.

Two years down line i have found out i have gluten and dairy intolerance which unfortunately clogged up my colon and made the massive star seeing poop as was always constipated but it had also inflammed my psoas, groin and sciatic nerve as ur colon sits on them nerves.

So i have gone gluten and dairy free but i also see a osteopath who sorts out the groin pain and i am 90 % there.

I also make sure my 💩 is always soft and i never get constipated anymore which seem to have stopped with the gluten free anyway

Thank you! Yes... I did have one crazy bowel movement one night that alarmed me. It was after a massive amountbof vegetables and special noodles called Miracle Noodles. My bowels have been irregular since and the pain in my pelvic area (we’ll call them period cramps) started out small. Like background noise. And then got more and more intense. It’s hard not to correlate the two situations (bad bowel at 4pm and subsequent pelvin pain that has been constant but flaring up in intensity the past few weeks). I guess I’n just trying to wrap my mind around how a colonoscopy is going to help with my pelvic pain diagnosis??? You mentioned psoas - what is that?? And how did you cone to realize your intolerences? And, how are you finding relief? Are you too, sufferening from pelvic pain? It just feels like period pain all the time... 😞

Hope you've calmed down a little now. Don't matter where you come from, our bodies all work the same. The US may do things a little different from the UK,but the end results the same. Try not to worry, just get through your Colonoscopy and take it from there.

I have calmed down a bit... Time will o that, I guess... You just exhaust yourself. Thank you so much 💙 Just saw my Gastro, Dr Rivera and he tried to make me smile and laugh. It’s 12:24pm here... starting my prep at 2. I try to think of people less fortunate than all of us. Like the bridge collasping that I heard about on the news. I think about those poor people and I wonder how I have the nerve to complain as I write this - alive. Watching the wind blow through the trees outside my lanai. I’m in pain but I’m HERE. I guess it’s a persoective thing that gets lost when we get scared or are confused by our symptoms. I will try to update with tomorrow’s results. You’ve been so kind to wtite me back / check on me ☺️💙🌺

Oh I will check on you😉. Like I say it's a natural process to worry.

It's 5-30pm here. Wish you luck I'll be thinking of you.❤️🌺

Your symptoms are very similar to mine as well. After testing positive for lactose and fructose intolerance, I’ve been able to control my gas rep issues by going on the Fodmap diet. The irritation this has caused to my nerves and psoas muscle has been more difficult to bring under control. If you change yr diet to reduce the inflammation then work with a physical therapist to reduce the resulting muscle and nerve pain I believe you’ll get better

I have been dealing with similar symptoms for 3 years and things have gotten worse over time, finally got a semblance of a diagnoses, intestinal endometriosis. Its often times misdiagnosed as IBS, because gyn don't deal with bowel and GI don't deal with gyn problems. I just so happen to have a GI that was familiar with it. Ive had excruciating pelvic pain that also cause vaginismus, levator ani syndrome, low back pain, right hip and abductor pain, abdominal pain, basically it hurts from below my ribs to above my knees and it all starts in my rectum and vagina, where the endometriosis is! Hope they find out what it is!
