I had a hysterectomy when I was 33 and 3 years on, I have excruciating pain and swelling. The GP has told me it’s adhesions and nerve damage and that it’s basically a chronic pain condition now and just needs to be managed. They tried me on several pain meds and we landed on pregabalin, which helps the pain but makes me so stoned. My body also keeps getting used to the dosages and they just increase it. I can’t work, or function properly, so housework and social life are not really happening. I’ve applied for PIP to hopefully be able to manage my finances, but I kind of feel like my life is falling apart and I have no support, other than my close family and friends who look after me 😅
Bit of a rant, but and suggestions?

hi sweetie how's u? I understand you, I'm at that stage as well pain management is all I have at the moment and even then I'm running out of options. if you want to chat plz let me know 😊 I'm having a rough day today and I really hope you are feeling better then I am xxx
I read your post and feel as though I had written it for the most part with only a few differences. I was left with two chronic pain conditions. I do believe that I was rushed out to another doctor then another My primary doctor at the time researched my symptoms and, at least, gave the best answer to the pudental problem but not the other area of pain. As far as the medicine, I take 300 miligrams of thr Lyrica twice a day, 2 Cymbaltas once a day. I take themtogether. I do take several other meds as well for other things. This pain is one that puts your life in another realm. I do know exactly how you feel. Hope this makes sense because I have been up all night again. You can let off steam with me. I found out the hard way people just don't want to hear about your pain. This is the best place for it.
Thank you 😊 it really does help just to feel heard and know I’m not alone in this. I totally agree, people get very bored hearing about the pain, so I just shut up about it for the most part, but it’s debilitating!
I had the Davinci method about 9 years ago. I have no problems with pain. The only problem I have is that if I do too much heavy lifting, I have pain in my lower pelvis area. I pray your situation improves.
I wish I could help, it must be hell every day. I've no advice for you I'm afraid other than to say hang on in there. I hope others have more useful advice.
I take pregabalin for nerve pain in my neck and although it helps I wish I’d never started taking it it effects my balance vision and memory I can’t get of it now I’ve been on it 2/3 years so if you can I’d try to find another drug before you get hooked
Do not give up! As long as you are able to move, there is hope for improvement. I am still improving 10 years on from my last surgery. Over the past 3 I have tried the following - each has given some reduction in day to day pain.
1) Pelvic floor PT
2) Pelvic floor PT after botox injections into the pelvic floor - this helped reduce the pain during therapy and I made better progress
3) Myofascial manipulation of the pelvic area on the outside - by a myofascial massage professional
4) Neurostim (dolphinmps.com) of the scars left from 2 laporotomies and 8 laporoscopies - ie lots and lots of scars - large and small - "scar release therapy"... btw it seems that some of these scars were attached to internal adhesions - which are also treated this way
5) Walking daily - now up to several miles a day - just keeping my hips moving...
6) Diazepam suppositories
7) Baclofen suppositories - even better (ie muscle relaxants right where you need them)...
As chronic pain suffers - there are no easy answers. Docs are of limited help. Keep trying alternative and new therapies. And best of luck to you!
