I am having a laparoscopic hysterectomy in September/October, due to diffuse adenomyosis and severe endometriosis.
Has anyone had this surgery ? Could you please tell me about your experiences? I'm very nervous.
Thank you

I had one last year. Mine was an abdominal and they took everything. It was a slow recovery but ok, I suggest looking at the hysterectomy association website and poss Facebook groups, they helped me a lot.
I was on the waiting list for a laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy with the removal of both ovaries at the start of this year but for me I still hadn't received a date after the 18 weeks and in that time had been doing lots of research and decided a hysterectomy at 42 wasn't for me. I have very painful mid cycle pain that lasts for a good 10 days most months and I was told because of the mild endometriosis that I also have the operation couldn't guarantee me complete relief so decided to have another mirena a bite the bullet as I type this I am in agony 6 days so far bloody ovaries never being a woman again. Enough about me I would throughly recommend that you join the hysterectomy association and buying the book called In my own words all about women's experience of their hysterectomy, it's a really good read. Good luck for your forth coming hysterectomy, I have been following your experiences on here over the past months and I know you have suffered and a hysterectomy sounds the right choice for you. X
