Hi is it just me or does anyone else feel the cold easily? I am wearing a jumper today and had a jacket on as well when I went out earlier. I wonder if it could be a side effect of all the medication.

Cold.
Hello Conniefused,
I find I feel the cold quite a lot and often have many layers on, I also have spells of feeling too hot.I feel like my thermostat is broken, I have scarves hats gloves and an ice gel pillow insert!! My doctor couldn't find any cause but she ran a number of blood tests to check on things but all were normal. If this is new for you I would ask your doctor, to see what they think though

I am cold all the time too. Unless I am too hot. Yesterday went to supermarket and my fingers were blue, despite wearing a jumper. Everyone else in tee shirts.
Hi mary 48,I too have a lot of trouble with temp gauge its almost like the body can't find the energy to function and heat or cool properly.however the blue fingers ..
May be something else.im no doc but my daughter in law has this and has a condition called raynauds disease where her toes n feet go white and blue! Checl with a doc.
Cold -yes, can definitely relate to that. Broken thermostat describes it. In fact, the thought that I had a temperature regulation problem was one of the reasons I originally trotted off to the doctor. I have Raynauds, which explains it but I suspected possible under-active Thyroid. Test came back negative so guess Raynauds is to blame completely.
Now I also have hot flushes and can equally over-heat incredibly easily - but - at the same time as having Raynauds - so my feet are still freezing in socks. These days I'm really not an attractive sight.....
Temperature regulation is another complicated subject - I'd love for that to be covered in some detail by one of the articles in Bear Facts?!
I am always cold as well apart from when I go to sleep then i am too hot, I asked the chemist about a cool pillow and he said it would not do me any good as it's my liver that is the cause of temp changes, I don't know it it's correct but I havent bothered to ask my gastro as all he will say is hormones and it is not, I had a early hystorectomy 25 years ago so i know exactly what hormone s flushes are like.
My husband left when I read this out to him. It's the standing joke in our house. Even amongst wider family and friends - they pay no attention to me as always cold & always hungry. I did google it - vet common in auto immune conditions!
Raynauds is part of the PBC package (the gft that keeps giving). There does not appear to be an answer to it, as my GP says.
Just back from Torquay, beautiful weather, husband in shorts and tee shirt , me with a scarf and sweater. And I am always hungry even though I have 3 meals a day.
There is a link, firstly, between PBC and Reynaud's. That is a different thing altogether from what is described below.
Secondly, in amongst all the other functions the liver has it is our thermostat and our boiler. So, it is not uncommon for people with PBC to experience difficulty with changes of temp or regulating their temp.
Sometimes, people will have sweats on their neck in the evening or just can't get warm through the day.
Also, many with the itch say that the itch can kick in during the evening: just at that time when there is a palpable drop in the temerature of the room.
Yours,
Robert.
Haven’t been diagnosed yet, but in 2016, M2 test was 20, March 2018 it was 22, then I broke my leg, tibia and fibula, with metal rod and screws in my leg below knee down to ankle. Just tested again Nov 2018, and now M2 is up to 29.5, liver functions still normal. Been seeing a GI to watch my nonalcoholic fatty liver since 2016, no treatment needed. I go back to see doc in five days. Wondering if breaking my leg and all it’s trauma triggered the M2 antibodies to rapidly increase in shorter period of time. I’ve noticed, I’m very cold most of the time now, when I’m usually very hot or warm person even in colder weather. Thanks for posting this info.
The Itch!!!!!!! You should see my forearm this morning Robert, it is blood red and bruised from itching and scratching during the night, i put moisturising cream on, Calamine cream and lotion, cold water. witch hazel, i almost thought of biting a chunk out of it at one time. I now look like I have been in a fight.
Hello conniefused.
No I don't suffer from feeling the cold easily, always have been quite the oppposite and since being diagnosed with PBC Dec 2010 I still feel hot in a room where there is artificial heating for eg., my face starts feeling it first.
I thought I had completed the change as started having a more up and down cycle but unfortunately I've not as yet as I recently discovered. I have had the odd hot flush with it but I find certain types of the year if out and about if I do put a jacket/cardigan on if I think it might be cool, I tend to find I am far too hot.
I don't think it is a side-effect of urso but cannot say for anything else as I only take urso and have since Dec 2010.
