Sudafed and Claritin for a Cold?

Hi Everyone!

Is it safe to take a Sudafed and Claritin for a couple of days for a bad cold if you have a PBC?

I called my doc yesterday and left message, but they never returned my call!

My doctor knows I use Zyrtec (antihistamine) daily and I know that drs often recommend we try Benadryl (another antihistamine) for itching.

I feel for you— I’m coming down with some bad cold - it’s been going around here - everyone is sick..

My hepatologist told me to take antihistamine & okay for Muncinex too.

What is the active ingredient in sudafed... Best not to take ibuprofen or aspirin with pbc... But don't think that's in sudafed.

Ive taken child's boots cough linctus as it is soothing and has very little actual drug in it... A tyxilix type of syrup... Soothing for a cough but easy on the liver... Ask the pharmacist... They have the drug book and can look up the contraindications with active ingredients. Antihistamines I thi k are fine, best wishes cazer

I like to use Cold Calm by Borion. Have to use it at onset of cold symptoms. Remember Vicks Vapor rub too
