Getting a cold

I rarely get a cold but I feel a good one coming on. Temp here in Michigan is hovering around 5. I used to drink the tried and true Alkeseltzer Cold stuff but is that agreeable with us?

Hope you feel better. My boss has been coughing & sneezing all week. He knows how I feel about people being sick around me. In my mind I wanted to throw him through the front door. He says it’s allergies. If I get sick I’ll know it isn’t allergies. So disrespectful of him. Take care.

I have my first cold of the winter here too, been home for 3 days now, my doctor said take anything i want to follow the directions closely for dosing, i think its not good to be on any cold meds for long periods of time from what i read a while back but short term is probably fine, did you ask your doctor?

I haven’t had to yet. But if I think I might be getting sick by Friday I will call him since Monday is holiday. Maybe as long as we’re careful as to how much we take it will be ok. I’ve never been able to take many OTC meds due to my thyroid. Makes it hard. Usually end up with rx. Hope you feel better.

No, I hate to call my doc for a simple thing like a cold, but now that you mention it that would probably be wise....ugh...still trying to get used to PBC. Thanks for the info and hang in there with our beautiful weather fellow Michigander!

To ask your doctor about taking the cold meds. You asked about that here in your first post. Where are you in michigan?

My doctors don't give me anything for a cold as it is viral. If I have a cough he says to take mucinex. & drink lots of liquids & if throat is bothering me, zinc throat drops. Honey & tea is really good for a cold. Feel better!
