Medically sound but my body tells a different story.

Guys, the last time I was on I spoke about my chest burning and pain under my left breast. Well more than a week ago I was at the emergency dept of medical city hospital in the Philippines for a pain below my right shoulder. Despite meds the pain persisted. I was admitted to hospital for an entire week. Eventually I was diagnosed with muscle spasm and began therapy. While there an endoscopy and ultra sounds of by gallbladder, liver and pancreas were done. End result I have hyper acidity or gastritis. Before that I did several ECG's and an echocardiogram as well as a treadmill stress test. All results were normal. Several blood tests were also performed, which were all good. My BP dropped at times, which made me feel weak and dizzy. Docs said it maybe as a result of the the meds. Anyways, my cardiologist told me my heart is in excellent condition and I have nothing to worry about. Thing is I do worry when my chest starts to burn along with discomfort. Yesterday I decided to make an appointment to do a ct coronary calcium score test, which I did today. This will show if I am at risk of getting a heart attack in the next few years. I Will get the results on Friday. My cardiologist told me this test was not necessary but I still did it. However, I'm home now and my chest started to burn. I took two aspirin tablets along with some maalox an a nexium and it's ok now. Why do I always feel like I'm dying. My body aches so much at times and I worry. Should I do an angiogram now? I have spent a lot of money so far, don't know what to do. I'm only 43 yrs old. I want to live my life!

Have you been checked by a gastroenterologist? My acid reflux was so bad that I thought I was having a heart attack and would die. Turned out to be an infected stomach ulcer. Two weeks of treatment and I got my life back. It does reoccur and I've been offered an operation, which is quite new and involves a magnetic band around your oesophagus. Also suffering from terrible rib pain, so have been referred to a rheumatologist. Might be worth checking out. Good luck!

I thought I had a heart attack and it turns out it was gastritis and oesophagitis. It means that the passage down to the stomach is inflamed.

I went to A&E too fearing heart problems.

It hurts an awful lot, amazing it's just inflammation but that's what it is and I've started a course of medication. Worry makes it worse as it increases the acid.

Hopefully, that's all that's wrong with you.

I think you sound like you probably suffer from anxiety as well so perhaps you might want to see a doctor regarding this as it can have a terrible effect on your life.

Good luck with Everything

Hi taking aspirin with gastritis is not a good idea as it irritates your stomach, then you produce more acid then get the pain. This applies to all NSAIDS. Are you taking the nexium regularly? You should take it every day for at least 4-8 weeks

I also went to ER with chest tightness and pain, difficulty breathing, abdominal bloating and acid reflux. All tests for heart were ok, they found hiatal hernia. I still am having symptoms. They never told me if all these symptoms are coming from that???? The bloating causes great pressure in stomach, chest. Anyone familiar with any of this?

Can hiatal hernia on distal wall of esophagus cause this? I take Prilosec and gas-x with little to no relief!

I have been admitted to hospital with the same symptoms,They thought I was having a heart attack.I have gastritis and osogeal reflux disease.Very painful.I find driking lots of cold milk helps when it starts.I am on omeprazole which don't always prevent attacks.Stress and anxiety can bring on an attack.Sometimes just doing nothing at all it starts.I hope you are able to cope better knowing others are experiencing the same symptoms.

Thanks guys. Janepepper, I did see a gastroentorologist and an endoscopy was performed along with ultra sounds to my gallbladder, liver and pancreas. It revealed I have gastritis. I've been using omeprazole but even that does not work at times. Bought some gaviscon today, hopefully that will work. Any other meds I can try guys? Thanks.

Can you get Peptac where you are? Much better than Gaviscon, which has aspartame in it as the sweetener. Aspartame is terrible stuff.

Aspirin is a no-no if you have stomach problems.
