I am delighted to be celebrating one year without cigarettes.
I won't say it was always an easy road; I definitely had some challenges along the way. My dad died, I had surgery, and I moved to start a new job and relationship. In the past, any of these would have been enough at least sneak one, which would turn into two, and eventually into a relapse. The only thing I can attribute to my success this go-around is that I really, really wanted it.
If you are just starting out, and you stumble, don't give up. This was not my first try. You'll get there. We're here for you. And it's beautiful on the other side!

Congratulations ladyinthelake, 1 year is a great milestone on the journey. Everyone on here knows how big a deal it is. People that haven't been addicted like us I'm sure don't fully realise the battle we all have. Stay strong.
