Stress with no smoke is less stress!!

Hi all, I hope this finds you well...

It's my little boys birthday today! 8 years ago I went into labour and he was born at 15.22 on 14/6/2009.

He is nothing short of a miracle in so many ways after I was told I couldn't carry a child, long story.

My point: I have been quite stressed sorting out gifts, spending money I don't have and generally being alone doing this...

At this time (00.45) I would usually have had a good drink or three and smoked eleventy million fags trying to hold it together. I don't find these times easy at all.

I'm incredibly proud to say, no drink, NO SMOKE, and, despite my past reliance on cigarettes getting me through, my stress has actually been much less upsetting!!

Thanks for reading, I'm off to drift in dreams of my little ones face in the morning... I don't stink and my chest is all free... boom!!

Bests Jo x

  • Hey jobm1, great honest and heartfelt post, you can see alright all the love you have for your precious miracle son in your profile picture, he is a credit to you and now you being smoke free, you are a credit to him (hope you understand this Irish metaphor!)

I 100% agree that I now deal with stress a lot more calmer smoke free, smoking definitely magnified it but we were too blind to see!

Happy Birthday from all us to your son, hope he has a great day :)
