Great job!
Well done Mike2129, I also recently quit the patches think about 3 weeks now, was a bit "iffy" for a few days, but now onwards and upwards ...3 months smoke free yipee!!
Keep it up !!
Hey I'm on the patch and wondering how the heck its going to be getting off them. It's good to hear that you did it successfully. I guess you have to prepare for just one more couple of few days of withdrawl. Thanks for posting and congratulations.
I started taking it off around 8 to 12 hour mark for a few weeks . Then I waited 36 hours before putting one back on. Then I got angry so I put it back on . Kept it back on for 8 to 12 hours again . Then did the 36 hour thing without it again. After about 2 or 3 tries now I'm without it for 12 days or so. I took nicoderm 21 mg patch for around 42 days. Never went to step 2 or 3
Welcome to our community Mike2129 - congratulations on over 50 days smoke free and 14 days off the patches now, well done!
Also, good for you overcoming the huge craving / trigger to smoke 'just the one' when out drinking, that is a massive achievement.
Looking forward to reading your progress
Over 100 days smoke free now Mike2129 - how is things?
Yes and u know. I still feel like something is missing. But I really dont want a cigarette I just miss smoking in general .I've gained 16 pounds now my back hurts
Yeah that sense of missing Mr Nico does linger for a while but does get less severe and frequent as each day passes by.
Everyone gains some weight when they stop smoking as everything tastes so good and our metabolism slows down to that of a non smoker. When stronger in your journey, this can be addressed. Enjoy your new found taste and smell, but maybe eat more fresh fruit and veg and bit of a walk daily.... you are doing great
