I quit cold turkey nine days ago. The first week was a little tough. Quite a few days spent feeling sorry for myself. Watching sad YouTube videos and crying and couldn't sleep well at all. Basically I was moping ๐ I trialled having a drink with friends ๐ทand not smoking and got through that. Proud of myself, that's a big test for me ๐ This week has been good so far. The stand out things that have happened is that my sense of smell is returning and noticing how I personally smell ๐๐ปMy daughter hugged me the other day and told me I smelt beautiful ( ie not like an ashtray). My friend had just washed her hair yesterday and i could smell it it, lovely and fresh in the breeze and I told her so ๐Made her day and made me realise that smoking has probably robbed me of experiencing plenty of other beautiful scents and tastes ๐ธ So still going strong. It's getting a little easier day by day and I'm appreciating the positives of not smoking, however little they may seem ๐

Ah Tania, what a lovely positive post Well done on 9 days, you are doing great!
Yes, the newfound sense of smell is wonderful and you have so many more to rediscover especially during the summer! (Beware of some bad smells too, never realised how bad they were until I quit - wowzer!! )
We look forward to your updates and progress....
