Fat burners with champix

Hi just wondering if anyone has used fat burners while on the champix? I'm now day5 of not smoking and I can't stand not having any energy and just eating the contents of the fridge! I'm quite obsessed with my weight so this is driving me mad. Any help would be great 😊

I am on champix and thought about getting some. But I don't have long to go on it so thought I would wait. Meanwhile I am swimming 3 times a week, walking every day and looking to add more aerobic exercise this week. But sometimes I swear I could eat my house!

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I go on the treadmill every day for an hour, only fast walking though. And don't have time to do anything else due to work and kids. For example the other day I ate 700 cals, burnt off 400 cals and still put 2lb on. I nearly cried. So unless I use some fat burners like t5's I think I will proper lose it. As at the min theres nothing to look forward to come the evening when the kids are finally in bed. All I looked forward to was wine and fags and now I do neither. So the thought of getting fatter and still nothing to look forward to is horrendous. πŸ™ˆ

Oh, it's not that bad my dear. There's all the money you are saving. I have a manicure now every few weeks, and as the fog lifts you will find things you really want to do, and you will have the money to do it.

Stop weighing yourself every day, it doesn't help, just do it once a week. 700 calories is really not enough, try to eat a bit more, but good stuff. Try to do 1 different thing every week, something to look forward to. Make a movie night with the kids, invite someone to tea and make scones,do your own spa night, start a jigsaw, read a book. Draw the cat. Have a sleepover with your friends.

It is Important to avoid boredom, because that's next door to self pity, and then it's a hop to might as well smoke. And you have so much to look forward to. I am starting to feel confident about not smoking now and that confidence is spilling into other areas. I am finally more in control of my moods. My hair teeth and skin have improved out of measure.

Your kids must be young if you have evenings without them. Their health will improve, they will be so proud of you. You will hug them more because you won't be worried that you smell, and when they are older they won't be able to answer back to every concern you raise with "well at least I don't smoke", or worse, they will smoke, because you did!

Really vampire , your life is going to be good

Thanks for your kind advice. I think I'm just having a bad day and still early days at the min. I think I'm struggling just as much with the alcohol as the cigs. As I've been drinking a full bottle of 12% wine every night for the past 3 years following a close family death. So I've got the champix for the smoking but going cold turkey with the alcohol. So I think it's both of them I miss to wind down at night. My kids don't go bed till 10 pm so I literally have from then until I go bed to myself. I know eventually I will overcome this feeling and as swn as I finish the champix I might get some more sleep as at the min I'm only getting 4 hours a night. I wake up every morning at 4 am like clock work since starting these so I think maybe the lack of sleep is making me ratty and irritated aswell. Oh well it will be worth it in the end. Thanks to listening to my moaning. X

Oh honey, you really are so brave. It's amazing that you have done this. I am dead impressed. I know that giving up alcohol cold turkey is very hard. It's really important that you eat well and take vitamins. Please try mindfulness. It sounds a bit wonky wanky but it works really well for people in recovery. There's Calm of course, but I use an app called Insight Timer, it's got thousands of guided meditations on there, including lots tailored for recovery. And please be careful, know the signs that you may need more help. I wish you all the best

Hey Vampire14 - 1 week smoke free now, congrats, hope you have a wee treat lined up for yourself :P πŸ‘πŸ‘

I would check with your doctor that prescribed the champix for you about the fat burners. The lack of energy can be a common nicotine withdrawal, maybe head to your health food shop for herbal and vitamin supplements to help with this.

The increased appetite is also perfectly normal as everything tastes and smells so much better now that you have your taste buds back. Please, do not worry about gaining weight as EVERYONE does when they stop. πŸ‘…πŸ‘ƒ Enjoy it at this early stage. :P You have enough on your plate (no pun intended :D ) at the moment. It can be addressed later on if needs be.

Fair play to you giving up the alcohol too, wish you strength to succeed in both journeys.

I promise Vampire, with this new found life and lifestyle you have so much to look forward to from food, holidays, seasons (summer in particular), nature, more money, so many health benefits, the list is endless. At night, enjoy this time to yourself, take time out, relaxing bath, scented candles, facials. Get a good book and watch a movie. You could also complete a 'to do' list of stuff you put on the long finger and work through that to keep you busy.

Keep in touch with us :)

How are you getting on Vampire14 ?

Hi Roisin, thanks for asking about me. Well im still not smoking πŸ˜† . But I am having a glass of wine at night which is amazing considering I use to have a full bottle. And I just use my nicotine free vape when I get stressed. I mainly use the vape at work and in the evening's as this is when I want 1 the most. I've also been suffering from bad constipation this last week. So tomorrow im getting some milk of magnesium and hope that it works. IAlso 2day and yesterday I forgot to take my morning tablet and I've actually felt normal and not slow and sluggish. Still been taking the evening tablet. But felt much better just having 1 a day. So I guess I best tell my advisor at the chemist as I'm sure they won't agree with that. As for the weight, I've stayed the same which is good I guess for now. My friend started the same time as me and she's put a stone on so I don't think I'm doing to bad then. Thanks for everyone's advice . It really does help 😊

Hi, yes not to bad really. Been advised to half my dose of the champix due to my temper. Spoke to a doctor 2day regarding kalms and fat burners. Apparently not much interfere's with champix so she told me to try green tea which will increase my metabolism and give me more energy. So gona give that a whirl 2moz and see how I go. Still want a fag but I don't crave 1. Can't believe im on day 17. Fingers crossed I can continue . Thanks for asking about me x
