My new quit date was April 1. Doing good. I’m starting to recognize my triggers. That’s a plus.

Good news that you got back on the horse dreambuilder! Glad you are finding your triggers this time. That will help because if you know they are coming you can prepare for them . You can do this. It's one day at a time. I will say if you need to get through a particular bad crave playing a little game may help. I do the one where you go make up things like " A my name is Anna, I'm from Alaska and I sell apples. B my name is Ben I'm from Brazil and I sell bongos." I just work my way up the alphabet till I feel better keeping your brain on something else can really pass that time a lot easier. Wishing you well. Are you using anything to help you a long this time?

Hi. I used a patch to get me started through the first three days. I don’t like them because they cause my skin to welt. Thanks for the game idea. You have an awesome quit going. Stay strong.

No problem. And thanks . I had problems with the patch when I tried to quit the first time last year. One patch I was allergic to so I tried a different brand and sweated it off. I'm using a vape pen now but my sinuses dried out and doc says it may be related so I'm sweating my self down a bit faster than expected to try and get that back to normal. I'm glad you didn't give up . Keep on keeping on as they say. Wishing you the best.

Dreambuilder..Surely your dream is to quit smoking otherwise you wouldn't have stopped again....To be honest, If I would have relapsed I would not try again because it is certainly the most difficult thing I have done in my life..You are very brave...!!

Today would be day 8 and as mentioned you know the triggers...avoid them as far as possible..but this is a war, a boxing fight...you and the demon...

Don't stand against ropes defending..get out of your corner attacking..and the moment you land a few good punches the demon throw the towel...for this fight anyway...There will be many more fights but if you attack and do not only defend you will win them one by one ..

Stay strong !!

Hey Dreambuilder0227 (deleted your other duplicate post on how to change quit date). I have now amended your stop date - as admin here, I do these and are done manually.

Huge well done on getting back on the horse, as long you learn from previous attempt, you WILL succeed, I promise :)

Stay close to us and post anytime but especially if struggling :)

Hi Roisin. I’m doing well. I am 21 days quit. It’s been a weird day though. I’m not craving but feeling jittery. It may be the quit or it may be an upcoming thunder. Don’t known. Just going to make my day through it. Thanks for checking in on me. Appreciate it.

Great to hear from you Dreambuilder0227 , well done on 21 days (have amended your stop date). At 3 weeks/21 days, these jittery feelings are normal and known as 'the blahs' or 'Icky Threes' - see below pinned post if not already read, keep in touch when you can and continue to take one day at a time :)

So when do the icky feelings end. I’m on day 23 and I am feeling irritable. That is me being polite.

Everyone is different Dreambuilder0227 but as advised in the link, they tend to peak at 3 months, after that, become less severe or frequent - just take it day by day as the stronger you become to deal with them.... wishing you strength, you are doing so well :)

How are you feeling today Dreambuilder0227

Thanks for asking. I’m still irritable but I know it will pass. I had a really positive experience yesterday though. I went to my weight watchers meeting knowing I have some weight gain. My leader was really supportive. She knows I’m working on quitting. She told me to focus on my quit and not concern myself with any gain right now. I have to keep looking for positive things right now.

You got great advice there Dreambuilder0227 - any weight gain can be addressed when secure and stronger in your journey :)
