Day 4 cold turkey. I find reading and relating to others quite helpful. Although I am true to my word that I really do not want to smoke, a part of me misses it. I am constantly snacking. Still tired and tummy is a bit upset. light headed at times. But ... I smell better. and so far saved 25.00 from not buying smokes

Cori....If I missed your entry post ...welcome...Yes, without sounding arrogant we all can say: "Been there done that"...
You/we will always miss smoking in a certain sense...It was part of our lives for years (for me 38) but I can only remember the bad ..the stench, the cough, the weezing...that X-Ray of my chest three years ago......etc etc
Now without it I am living a wonderful exciting life...can't wait for tomorrow to rediscover something that was always there but I could not notice because I was entrapped, it was hidden in a smoke screen ...and of course to spend the money I am saving not smoking..
The "Blah" feeling will soon pass....Lots of water and vitamin supplements from A-Z
Hey Cori3400 - welcome again and great to read an update post from you. That feeling of loss is perfectly normal and similar to grief, allow yourself to mourn this loss as it passes by pretty quickly. Snacking is normal too as we rediscover how delicious food tastes and smells again The light headed is a common withdrawal as our blood circulation returns to normal, but ensure to drink loads of water and keep hydrated, also eat plenty of fruit to keep blood sugar levels up.
Every person that quits, misses smoking, especially in the early days. I even miss it now from time to time. It is possible to both want and not want something all at the same time. This does get better and such feelings do become less frequent and easier to dismiss. In the meantime, you just have to keep going on a day by day basis.
I wouldn't worry about the snacking too much, you can deal with this later on.
Thank you for checking in. 1 week. So far so good. Can't say as i have not thought about it . I am proud so far and just have to keep reminding myself of the reasons why I need to break free!
