Hi everyone. So this is my second time quitting. I have smoked for over 20 years except for a 3 year break when I made the mistake of what harm is just one.
I have been on Champix for about 2 weeks but took half dose for the first week and now full dose in the morning and half for the evening. I try take my second dose in the late afternoon as really battling with not sleeping. I love sleeping.
So far it has not been too bad. The usual symptoms and cravings. Not much of a cough yet but sure that will still come. I have noticed how much I used smoking to help with boredom. Now I try keep myself busy or just relax when I feel a little bored.
I log on to this sight nearly every day. It is a great help and motivator.

Huge welcome to our community Charnelle - congratulations on 4 days smoke free, well done!
Keep up that positive attitude and continue to do what you are doing with keeping busy and reading up here - post anytime, especially if struggling at any time, we are here to help in whatever way we can
Going well. Thank you. Had a few moments over the last few days where I thought "oh just one would be lovely". Been keeping myself busy. Battling at work, not with not smoking but with remembering to take regular breaks. The smoking at least got me away from the computer. Have noticed that I have stopped weazing at night. Hoping to have a bit more energy in the next few weeks. This not sleeping is leaving me quite drained in general. Must say this week has not been as hard as thought it would be. Have been lucky in that there is no one that smokes at home and only a few at work, so temptation has not been too bad.
Well done Charnelle - continue to take it day by day....the sleep disruption is a common withdrawal and should settle down soon. Maybe a trip to your chemist or health food shop for some vitamin supplements to help with boosting your energy levels and immune system....get out and about in the fresh air as much as you can too.....
Chanelle congratulations and welcome ! You are doing well and don’t think you will get a cough reaction that’s not necessary going to happen .I quit with Chantix and I never had cough ..Your body will detox in many ways ..we are all different .
Enjoy your new life breathing pure oxigen ..
And every time you feel bored or tense breath in and out slowly ..Right after I quit I learned yoga and that’s helping me not just to give my lungs a work out but is helping me to energize every day .
