Happy thanksgiving! Is holiday quit anger a thing?

Happy thanksgiving!! Had a good one (perhaps bittersweet bc of many family have passed in last 5 years.) We had a good time & now home alone feeling angry....? Not at anything, but it's not going away. 50 something days quit. Is this normal?

It's more than likely the angry feeling is due to your first thanksgiving smoke free. Head to bed and get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow will be better 😴

Thanks for your perspective. Much better idea than leftover potato chips i inhaled. Oops. Ive 2 kits who are now avoiding me. Anger threw me for a loop! It was a pleasant day. So glad you're here. Tomorrow is another day. Hope full!!!

Thanks Laureenc. Am in pajamas & just giving whatever it is to God. So weird! Roison should know after 2 years so am hopin its gone by tomorrow. After 35 years am sure my body/brain may stay in shock not getting its wanted "fix" of nicotine w each past experience with it. Just got to overcome each hurdle one at a time. Smoking had to be the dumbest thing i ever did! What a fool i was to not realize this was NO friend.

Smoking made us all fools. But glad you got in pjs and was able to get on here and vent. Holidays are stressful for some. I stayed in bed all day, forgot my nic patch and have decided to just start the real quit. May today be a better day for you.

Thanks for understanding. Smoking is like a stalker once you get rid of it i guess. I hope your day is better too. I had a few of those stay in bed days.

Hey Laureenc - how are you getting on without the patch?

It's been ok so far. I've been very sluggish but nothing bad. Feeling flu like symptoms. I'm really determined to quit so I don't want to dwell on the cravings. I'm hoping Exsmo is feeling stronger today. I'm grateful for this site. Keeps me super busy and distracted when a craving hits.

It takes 3 days for the nicotine to leave your system, day 2 now is it? The flu like symptoms are normal along with others listed in below link of a pinned post if not already read:

RoisonO1 am iffy. Learning patience perhaps. Still waiting for feeling better and frustrated with my limitations of FMF. (Familial Mediterranean Fever) Not that smoking would make anything better, but seems to be taunting me! Am determined not to & clinging to a post that said , " if you want to ask someone for 1 smoke keep going and ask them for a pack no a carton and commit to knowing you'll smoke em all". I KNOW I don't want that! Just hoping to feel something good from the quit soon. Thanks for checkin in. 59days today & not letting that go.

It sounds rough, but what's amazing is you're still doing it! Living smoke free and towards a healthier you. Ugh, these recovery symptoms are terrible indeed, all worth it though. Keep on, 59 days is wonderful! Congrats! Can't wait to be there too. Hope the day gets better for you.

It will get easier and you will feel good and healthier in your journey, it is a gradual process for the body to rewire, repair and recover, but what is remarkable, it does recover. Everyone's journey is unique to them but usually normality is very noticeable between the 6 - 12 months mark.

Have you got a smoking app that lets you know your progress, milestones and recovery?

Thanks Roison & Laureenc. Encouraging words. Knowing 6months will be better helps.
