Hang in there, day 3 is rotten, we've all been there 😛 drink loads of water. I mean buckets between drinking it and the trips to the toilet you'll get distracted - just messing! Water is good, the more you drink the faster you get rid of the nicotine in your system. Also, if you're hydrated properly you won't get half the cravings, it's worth to try.

I used to read a lot, knowledge is power, the more you know about this addiction the better prepared you'll be to fight it

Just relax, take one hour at the time, it will be ok, you can make it xxx

Stay strong!

Huge welcome Kathyd7192 to our community and congratulations on Day 3. Are you quitting cold turkey? If so, the nicotine will be gone out of your system by tomorrow.

See below and perhaps read through the pinned posts across this page that may be of help to you.

Whoop whoop! Vent away :) I remember well my days, I'm surprised I managed to quit without murdering anyone in the process, often crossed my mind LOL

From crawling up the walls to being a complete lunatic, at some stage I actually thought I was losing it!

It will all be fine, treasure those memories, they will keep you away from lightening up ever again.

You can do it, 3 days almost down, bring on number 4 💪

Congratulations! Here's to another battle won, you will win the war in the end too :)

It's desperate! That's why now everytime I think about smoking I think again about going through the first days again, I don't think I could do it again... That alone keeps me away from relapsing.

You are strong, the worst is gone past, get enough sleep, sleep is actually a really good strategy for the first weeks. Good luck today!

Great Kathyd7192 , well done! The mental recovery has now begun now as your brain begins to re-wire after all the toxins put into your body need to be cleared out, it is a slow process but good news, for every day that passes by, the better you will feel, have faith that you can do it as you can and be ready to attack and fight at all times, and as always stay close to us :)

Vent! 😩 Omg this mental fog is making me crazy! Trying to learn something (so simple) at this new job is impossible! Brain is short circuiting. Its making me so paranoid and upset that it makes the fog even worse! IS IT THIS BAD FOR EVERYONE??? I FEEL LIKE A N IDIOT!! But i havent smoked over it, the pay is not worth it!!! Ughhhh.

Hello Kathyd7192 and welcome.

I am a bit late but I hope today at work went OK.

Hope you are doing OK this evening. When it got difficult for me at night I would go to bed early as it was the only place I did not think about smoking!

Stick with it. It is worth the grief of the early days and the pay-off you will get from quitting is huge.

☺☺

Hello Kathyd7192 , welcome to the forum!

Day three is awful...and in fact most of the first week is in my experience! It does get easier, honestly.

Hope you're doing ok after work. One good way to get away from it if the cravings become too much is to go to bed early. It's a simple solution but it works.

Please keep us posted and we'll try to help if we can. A lot of us here are in different time zones to you (most in Europe) so don't be downhearted if you don't get a quick reply.

Hope you made it through OK. At the beginning of the quit you get quite a few tests but the more you persevere the easier it gets, then before you know it you are going a few days at a time without even thinking about it.

Goodluck
