Hi guys I'm on day 44 of no smoking. I vaped for a week for the habit purposes but then stopped this altogether. For the last two weeks my chest has felt tight and very wheezy. I haven't coughed anything up in fact the tight feeling in my chest feels like I need to cough something up to clear it but I can't!! It's driving me nuts, I can't sleep properly and my husband can't because of the wheezing. I never felt like this when I did smoke!!!!!! Can anyone tell me if they have experienced anything similar? If so how long does it last!!! The small amount that I do manage to cough up also leaves a really odd almost coppery taste in my mouth....... is this normal ??? I'm starting to wonder whether I should have bothered quitting at all!!!!!!
No smoking side effects?!?: Hi guys I'm on... - No Smoking Day
No smoking side effects?!?
Welcome Hazza1980 - congratulations on 44 days smoke free, well done!!
What you are experiencing is perfectly normal withdrawal symptoms from nicotine and will pass soon, possibly around the 12 week mark but everyone is different in their recovery and repair. To help and assist with clearing out of the lungs, a tablespoon of raw honey(jar honey will work too) in the morning and night along with vaporizing a couple of nights a week with vicks or Eucalyptus oil. Drink loads and loads of water and try to get out in the fresh air for a bit of a walk to clear the head, sea air will do wonders too if possible
Below is a pinned post of common withdrawals from nicotine worth a read if not already done so:

How is things now Hazza1980 ?
Hi there, so it turns out I had a chest infection ππ got some medication and now feel so much better. I'm now on day 52 of no smoking!!!! Feel good and have had no relapses at all. Haven't had to use my inhaler much at all. I have however put nearly 2 stone in weight on π©π©π© I know I'm substituting cigarettes for food and I know the answer is to replace with healthy stuff or to manage diet more closely but I'm just lacking the willpower to do this at the moment.
Great to hear from you Hazza1980 - well done on over 50 days smoke free and glad to read things have improved for you.
Don't worry about any weight gain, this can be worked on when you are stronger in your journey. Keep up the great work
PS Do you find everything tastes so much better smoke free
Yes metallic taste budsπ¬
