Good morning all. Well this is my 5th week smokefree and 3rd day without the nicotine patches, and i must say it has been surprisingly easy!!!
I , like alot of people on here worried that coming off the patches would be torture, just like quitting all over again, and could possibly result in me smoking again. How wrong was i!!!! Its as if the hard work has already been done, it gets easier not harder!
I was a total fagoholic, and if i can do it anyone can.
I know that everyone is different, but my advice for coming off patches would be to not rush it as you will know when you feel confident enough to cut down on the patches, the time just feels right. Also remember that the patches will take the edge off the craves but you are doing all the hard work. By the time you stop the patches you will already have retrained your brain into knowing that it doesnt need to remind you to go for a fag every half hour cos it knows you dont smoke anymore! The only thing that i did notice was feeling ever so slightly edgy the first day but nothing like the first few days of stopping smoking.
Sorry if i have gone on a bit but i know that alot of people worry about stopping the patches and there doesnt seem to be any info on how hard/easy it is.
All i really know is that if i can do it, anyone can. X
