11th week: No patches, day 4 (Tuesday)

well all seems ok today, its much like the first 3-4 days all over again though, but thats probably due to alot of outside influence and kerfuffle in recent days. Managing without the patches is easier than i expected though, definitely less intense than the early days with the patches on.. but the ol' nicodemon is definitely having a hissy fit at the moment now the supply has been cut.

Anyway, events pass, days go by, onward i go.

Ahh good, i've resisted the urge to swear at a few people today.. why is it always the folk that say 'ahh while your here....?' or.. 'can i borrow you for 5 minutes' that always seem to end up taking up silly amounts of your time and you wish you'd said a very firm .. NO :)

I've had a headache all day today, so thats not been helping.

I am really glad that there is some 'getting over this' to be done anyway, if it was easy, i'd have nothing to 'not want to do again', so this is good.. but daaaamn how i'd love to quote a thousand expletives at a willing target today hehe

well done jase - your doing great. its been a bloody tough week for you but you havent faultered in the face of all the BS. you have given everyone your all on here and I really admire that. Helping people time and time again when they were looking like folding or really needed it. the posts arent supposed to be entertaining, they are supposed to help people get through tough times. and thats what you did time and time again for me and many others.

Regardless of what anyone thinks, you know deep down that you've helped to save some peoples lives, or at least given them a much better chance at doing it themselves. The support you've given folk over the last few months is worth a bloody fortune. Dont stop cos there's some people who cant bring themselves to put in the effort you do helping people. If they are feeling bad about not being able to do what you do and valuing a few laughs at others expenses over geniunely helping those who need it, then let em feel bad. don't stop mate.

and kitkat as well, first week off the patches as well and doing really great - im really proud of both of you. its been a tough week but your still here.

joan - good luck - you can do it. its a good sign you forgot your patch :)

I was a bit mad at you, Jase, I have to admit...... not that I made that a secret..... but that doesn't mean that I don't appreciate and acknowledge what you are going through...... getting off the patches must have been tough and I'm sure you felt plenty of craves and I just want to say good job to you. You've supported many people in your Jase way and that should be acknowledged as well.

So congratulations for getting off them patches. Well done you. xxx Bella

I'm having a break on here for the foreseeable. as its been pointed out, i posted too much... a side effect of doing your best to help folk, but if its going to explode in ones face, why bother.

So i helped a friend, who was being openly insulted, and responded in kind.. the results were all too evident, but hey, when 7+ folk decide to side against you even though they damn well know that the guy who got banned was a $#!+ stirrer to the extreme, well its time to take a break isn't it.

The forums at the moment have no good karma, just folk trying to score points, or gain revenge for something that lets face it was coming to a head anyway.

This didn't stop the petty insults of some from continuing though, and its been a true eye opener I can tell you.

Anyway, i'm having this break, and absolutely no idea at all when i'll be back posting, so say hi to the new folk if you can.

Day 7 off the patches has started really well, today in work is going to be a low stress day, can see a massive difference this last day or two/three compared to the first days.

Anyone who is on patches now and wondering what it is like when you come off them, well the balls and all of it is.. the first 3/4 days are like in the beginning but in no way as intense.. you get the cravings more often, but are shallower. Certainly something not to be feared. I just chewed gum and drank some extra orange juice during the first 3 days and day 4 i just endured.

day 5/6 i can definitely say were much much easier days.. and today day 7.. hardly noticing anything at all. And all that was while dealing with more than your average stress shovelled at you by folk who should know better.

nsd_user663_4990

Joan, well done you!, it does get easier as the days go by once the patches are off. i kept a step 3 patch in my pocket all week just in case, but never needed it.. no point. :)

Well its day 8 off the patches and my last day of week 11 today since i actually quit the act of smoking. Tomorrow begins my 12th week.

Being nicotine free in all forms is a great thing, today has been really 'moment free' and no problems have arisen at all. Mind you, its saturday and i would not expect there to be.

Thanks :)

Chrissie, you wouldn't believe it, but the last few days my daughter has got a massively heavy cold. She had less than a week feeling well and then got hit with a horrid cold. she's not eating today (well partly snacking but not eating in the eating sense). poor little thing, she knows now that she hates being that unwell and did nothing but cry last night til the medicine and milk kicked in.
