30 odd quid saved. Blood pressure has dropped a bit. Boooooooored with not smoking :)

Not sure if it is smoking withdrawal symptom or tiredness or something else, but a few times during the day I didn't feel quite as switched on as I normally do... like I wasn't really focusing on what I was doing. Dont like that at all!

30 odd quid saved. Blood pressure has dropped a bit.

You have got to be pleased with that? Especially your blood pressure dropping! I think the feelings you are having are just your body adjusting and the boredom is because you haven't filled your smoking breaks with anything else yet. Give yourself time to adjust you are doing great.:)

i know what you mean. i feel bored today (74 hours) i think its because the quit novelty wears out and its hello reality this is my life now.

and as said you havent found and alternative yet. personally i dont want an alternative, many people get by without 20, 5 minute breaks :p

well done, dont forget to feel proud and smile you yourself :) xxxx

144 hours. 50 odd quid saved.

Still thinking a lot about smoking - like "I would have had a ciggie about now whilst waiting for <something> to finish / start / arrive" etc. etc. Do you ever stop thinking like that I wonder?

HAZE56 - yes, quite pleased with blood pressure dropping, and hopefully so will my doctor be... she is really quite snotty about it!

nikki_gargin - not sure if I can say I am proud as I don't seem to have struggled with giving up at all. I am actually somewhat annoyed at myself in that I could probably have quit at any time over the last 20 years and just... haven't

12 Months in

Richard,

I was in your shoes 12 months ago and I thought that my life was over as I knew it, I felt vacant and thought cigarettes ruled the world, I was a heavy long term smoker, yet here I am 3 days short of a year, Mate - it gets so much better, but it takes time, but the time gets easier and what seems hopeless now becomes a great victory, your choice mate, do you want to be writing this email to someone else who has stopped this time next year ????

And it all gets so much better the addiction gets beaten and life gets back to normal without the fags, in fact life gets better and far less inconvenient.

Keep going through the tough times and the party will arrive, but only for the very resilient.

You need to believe me, although I understand that you don't think the same will happen for you - Thats we we all thought.

Good luck

Pete

Pete

Fab post. It's wonderful to see such inspiring and motivating people offering support here. It's info like this that keeps me going when I'm having a 'moment'. Words of encouragement like these spur me further along that journey to the Penthouse, which I'm determined to complete. It is literally only in the last week or two that I've started to feel confident that I will do so! :D

Richard - please rest assured it gets better. You are still very early in your quit and hence everything is very tender. Just stay strong and remember there's only one way to get where Pete is! NOPE!! :D

168+ hours. 60 odd quid saved. Broke my wrist.

The last is unconnected with giving up smoking... just thought I would mention it ;)

At what point are you allowed to say you are an ex-smoker..?

Richard you have been an ex smoker from the moment you decided to stop smoking. I'm glad you're finding it quite easy. Some of us are just lucky that way.

How the Dickens did you break your wrist?
