5 years smoke free!

June 1st was 5 years smoke free for me. I do not miss smoking anymore. I hate the smell of smoke on people now. I think the first year is the worst. That is because you are starting a new life without smoking. It does change your life. As you never realize how much your life has revolved around smoking. I feel so much better now. The best advice I can offer is stay away from smokers for a while. Do not put yourself in a situation where you are the only non-smoker the temptation will be too great. To succeed at quitting you have to make changes. For a while anyway. Until you feel that you are strong enough to do it. Good luck to all who are starting their journey. It does get easier.
