Hi Shorty,

The first 3 days are absolute, sheer hell arrrrgh don't I remember:eek: It's very hard to not want a cigarette in Day 2 so don't feel guilty for wanting one, only feel guilty if you really kill someone for one which I'm sure you won't:D Good news is that the nicotine leaves your body within 48-72 hours and you start having some good days after that. I set myself a goal of getting to 72 hours cos I wanted to see how I felt with no nicotine in my body, then I stayed stopped and will be into Day 26 in a couple of hours.

So keep going, it will never be as bad as this again as long as you don't smoke:cool:

Hi Shorty

A word of "Caution" killing people for a Smoke is frowned upon.

However killing smokers who try to tempt you is considered "Fair Game" and Sporting :)

Hi Shorty,

Well Done mate on starting your quit !

I'm a newbie Day 6 for me today  and I am the same as you regarding the hardest being the first thing in the morning but I can honestly tell you that on Day 3 morning I didn't actually want one first thing..... weird?

I admit that I 'thought' about having one a bit later on, but I was amazed that the first thing in the morning crave appeared to have almost gone ??

The morning is now just like any other part of the day for me ..... a passing thought and that's it.... so stick at it mate !

Just out of interest, are you using any 'help' or cold turkey ?? I'm on the champix and they have really, really helped me. (don't think I'd have the will power to go it alone)

I'm using patches and gum, I'm not allowed to have Champix cos of the side effects. Its weird yesterday went really well and I hardly thought about having a cig then today its been all I can think about. According to an app I'm using a crave only lasts 3 mins so must just be a lot of craves lol

Shorty I found this realy helped when you crave use the 5 D's

The Five D's

•Delay until the urge passes - usually within 3 to 5 minutes.

•Distract yourself. Call a friend or go for a walk.

•Drink water to fight off cravings.

•Deep Breaths - Relax! Close your eyes and take 10 slow, deep breaths.

•Discuss your feelings with someone close to you or at the support forum here

Hope it helps you as it did me :)

Thanks Gary I'm gonna scribble those down along with reasons for quitting to look at when I'm needing 1. Had to go to dentist today as need a load of teeth out (1 of the reasons I'm quitting) and ironically the worry was making me desperate for 1 spent half hour wondering round a shopping centre thinking if I find a shop I'm gonna buy some  but luckily didn't find 1 and feel much better now:)

firstly well done and feel proud!!

the main problem i found with cravings is association when you drink alchol get into car, sit down after dinner ect and the worst one will always be when you get up!!:(! unfortunately we cant stay in bed for ever but it does get better.

keep it

up:D

ITS HEALTHIER TO POST THEN SMOKE:D
