Hi Guys,

My name is Nick, i am new on this forum, i am 20 years old, i started smoking when i was 13 and i have been smoking 15-20 a day,

my fiancee has told me to quit, so im doing it for her!!

i quit on sunday and i found this forum yesterday while looking for some coaching!

I am using these new found zero nictotine patches, very strange as they have no nictotine in them,

im not sure if they work, as im still craving for a cigarette.

so im on hour 41, and its quite difficult, it constantly feels like i am hungry, but i really really dont want to eat otherwise i wont stop!!

hi Nick, great that your quitting!

ive never heard of those patches, let us know how you get on.

as for the food, try to eat nuts, friut, sugar free stuff and drink plently.

here is a list of ingrediants which is in my patch,

go on the internet and search for "zero nicotine" it will come up with all the information

Gotu Kola is used to promote relaxation, improve memory and blood flow, reduce inflammation, and increase liver function. It has been directly linked to significant improvements in concentration skills. Gotu kola also has a historic reputation for aiding a variety of serious illnesses.

Hops have pronounced sedative effects, producing a calm, soothing feeling. As one of the traditional agents employed in folk medicine throughout the Western world, Hops’ tonic and muscle-relaxing properties are especially effective in reducing physical cravings.

Skullcap is a powerful medicinal herb used in the treatment of a wide range of nervous conditions including insomnia, hysteria, anxiety, delirium tremens, and withdrawal from barbiturates and tranquilizers. High in minerals required for a healthy nervous system, Skullcap is a reliable and safe central nervous system tonic and sedative. It relaxes all states of nervous tension, nourishing and strengthening the nervous system at the same time. Also used effectively for treating nervous headache and restlessness.

Oat, also called Wild Oat, was historically prescribed as a traditional botanical medicine for the treatment of disorders of the liver, kidney and joints. Welcome Nick Congrats on your quit the first week is the worse but it do get a lot better after that. Day 3 being the worse mostly. You must also remember the quit must be for you it will help when you get a bad day. Keep posting its a great help. Linda xxxxxxxx

Yeah i know,

i thought i would try them out, as they havent any nicotine in, so it would get rid of the nicotine in my blood quicker than other patches with nicotine in!!

I think they are working, as it does keep my cravings down, but i can still feel them coming back to bite me!!

Just an observation, are you sure your GF has you on these Zero Patch wotsits to help quit smoking :confused: Looking at the ingredients they sound more like some aphrodisiac thing going on, I think she's got you doing herbal viagra patches mate :rolleyes:

If that's the case you may want to get her some of these

well whatever they are, i think they seem to be working, im not feeling any cravings, just god dam hungry all the time!!!

Im on the ordinary patches and i dont think they do anything at all but on the other hand im scared to take them off:D

Anyway we're all here to support each other whether its day 1 or day 1000.

Really needing a cigarette right now, had an argument with the boss from work, also having arguments with the wife lol.

Deep breaths.

Read (or if you haven't written it yet, now's a good time) your list of reasons for stopping. Make sure that most of them are personal (ie. not just doing this for other people, although that's not a bad reason to include on there).

If you're still at work can you get away for a few mins - even a couple of mins in the toilet away from the stress can help. Or a quick walk in the fresh air if you can get out.

Sip some water, or fruit juice.

Find a distraction for a few minutes - some work you need to concentrate on, the washing up, a puzzle - depends where you are.

Go somewhere private and have a shout (wouldn't advise that one in the middle of the office).

Come and read some of the random nonsense going on in the General forum to take your mind off things.

Plan a treat for this evening - nice meal, cinema, early night, gym, whatever is a treat for you.

Hi Nick - know that hungry feeling have just eaten a full pot of houmous while sitting here - all that herbal info was fab might go out and buy some of it.
