Just today my mouth tastes of blood!! im not bleeding ..its weird ..not sure if this happened last time & cant remember why? help anyone would be good ta xxx

Are you sure you haven't got a gum infection? I had one not long after I started my quit. It's not a pleasant thought but there was pus leaking from my gums and it did taste like blood. Anyway, you'd probably know if you did because your gums would be sore. It might be an idea to see a dentist and get a checkup though.

Went dentist not long back like a few weeks ago or somet around that..they never said ought? but maybe its happend since ...i will look into that one cheers mate xxx

KK...smoking masks gum disease and it is really common for it to show up after the quit.

Go see your dentist and try Corsadyl mouthwash it is great for gum probs.

Getting your mouth checked out by a dentist is no bad idea after stopping smoking. I did it and got my teeth cleaned and polished as an incentive to keep them tar-free.

Another reason why you might be getting funny tastes is your tastebuds will be readjusting and getting used to what it is like without yucky fags masking everything.

I'm still getting used to trying foods and going 'Wow! That tastes amazing!' - all those subtle-tasting foods that I couldn't taste before. Still love curries though! (the only thing I could taste properly as a smoker).

The advice everyone else has offered is great. If you can't stomach Corsodyl then rinse and gargle with salt water (teaspoon in a cup of warm water - don't swallow). And if it doesn't clear up in a couple of weeks have a word with your dentist.

alreadt done the dentist not so long ago ..got polished scrapped n 2 filling xxx

ta for tip with salt xx just noticed the inside of my cheek is cut? so dont know if ive bit it ..or its an ulcer>>? i will check it out tomorrow xx hopefully its that n not gum gunk xx :eek:
