Bleeding Gums / Mouth

I'm into week 4 and still getting bleeding gums / mouth and the associated manky taste.

How long does this side effect normally last?

I still have it and am just approaching 5 months. Mine only bleeds when brushing, and I have never had a nasty taste with it though.

My Dentist said it's normal, so I'm not too concerned....

I wouldn't worry about it, but if you are concerned a trip to the Dentist should put your mind at rest.

Must admit it's the element that really turns my stomach the taste of blood and spitting it out:eek:

The shifting of the crud from my lungs when I cough however I find quite satisfying as I like the fact I'm getting rid of some of the smoking related gunk!

Ive not had that, but I did have a check up at the dentist and he said my gums are in tip top condition since quitting.

T.b.h. it's knocking me sick at the mo'.

When I'm waking I can taste blood and there's blood in my mouth It's a case of running to brush my teeth to shift the taste :(.

Must admit though I'm getting right royaly pi__ed off with all the "side effects" of quitting.

I ain't going back to the weed but I can understand why people throw in the towel and go back.

I've never spent so much time at the G.P.'s / Dentist in the last month or so and to add on all the other stuff it's right doing my barnet in :mad:.

But hey, my fault, should never have started on the festering things!!!!

Dead right mate, numerous ex smokers I now know who've all said that you've got to go through some pretty depressing $hit to get to the good times

so have you ever thought maybe they exagerate a bit trying to out do each other in horror stories

I am past 1 month of not smoking.. but my gums are bleeding.. just saw my dentist 4 months ago and all was great.. but every morning starting 2 weeks in i spit brown blood from my mouth.. Its not coming from my chest. I wake with a terrible taste in my mouth and i spit brown old blood. I suck and more comes out.. never bleeds when i brush.. maybe only pink and very little not everyday...

also.. when on earth do the cravings go away.. some days I am great.. and others.. i want to cry
