Hello Sharon welcome to the forum.

We are all in the same boat here and know what you are going through.

I can be done and YOU can do it, so long as you stay strong and positive and focus on what you want to do!

All the best.

Nic

Sharon

the hardest part of a quit is getting your head in the right place for it.

What helps you to get your head right is education about your quit.,

if you are going Cold Turkey, read as much as you can on whyquit, hopefully something on ther will make sense for you.

i would also strongly recommend that you read The Easyway to stop smoking by Allen Carr.

Good luck

Stopping smoking

;)Sharon,

There are so many good things that flow from knocking off the horrible habit...and it will keep on calling you for a while.

Lots of people will give you suggestions on how to find the tools to help your success.

There's everything to gain, and the more work you do to find out what you need, the more you increase your power over the habit!!

All the best with it...we're all here to help you out...

Hi Sharon,

It helps lots of people to do a quit systemattically, from one or another of the programmes you can find on the net...There's one on the american lung foundation website..I think John KD..(can't get off to look his name up properly, sorry John) gives a link to that.

Stuff like writing down your reasons for quitting, identifying your smoking triggers and working out what you'll do when the urge to smoke surfaces...stuff like that.

Each thing you do to affirm your decision will strengthen your ability to beat the 'orrible 'abit.

YOU CAN DO IT.

YOU WILL DO IT IF YOU WANT TO.

preparation is important. Don't be down about starting again. Just look a bit deeper into whether or not you really are ready to stop. You can when you want to...that's the good news!

All the best with it,

Bill:)

Mornings were always the hardest for me too. If you don't already only smoke outside start now! It really sucks smoking in the freezing cold. I also set my alarm 10-15 minutes later so i was rushed and had no time to puff!

It worked 4 me, hopefully it will help u!

PS: lotsa chocolate too:D
