Welcome and well done on your progress so far, what a good start and nice you found this forum early in your quit too. I didn't find this place til 3 weeks after i'd quit and i'm sure glad I did. There is some REALLY nice people here, and its nice to share your experiences aswell as just having a chat too.
We have a number of folk here using champix and i'm sure they'll make themselves known to you as you use these forums If you get any experiences good or bad with that method, don't be afraid to share your thoughts/feelings.
We're a good bunch, all having good days and indeed some bad days too but what matters is we are all in this for the same objective. To kick the nicotine addiction for good.

You know? we are often the last to notice that we are being a bit moody while we are quitting.. it takes others to tell us before we question ourselves and think.. 'oh hang on, they are right, i'm perhaps being a little short with folk'.
There are days when you will think.. i am 100% ok, yet unknown to you, you've seemed flakey to others.
All that is quite normal, and i've seen a few posts on here now where folk have questioned their quit by saying 'it shouldn't be this good should it?'
Well actually yes it should, if you feel really good about quitting, and can draw positive energy from your 'baby steps' to quitting, then absolutely you should feel good.
You may however experience a few lows too, and those are the days you will want to post on here about more because you may feel a drop in your resolve and need more positive encouragement to get you through your day.. those days will come, we've all had them, and we're likely to have more yet, so please please do keep us up to date on your progress good or bad and we'll be there for you.
For now though, be happy with who you are and where you are with your quit, you're doing great, still a long way to go yet, but you take it one day at a time for now and you'll gather experience as you go. When you get to quite some weeks in you may well see someone new posting on the forum who you feel is confused a bit in their cycle and you'll be able to pass on your experience as though it was only yesterday.
proud of you, keep up the momentum.
Hi Kez - welcome!
I'm another Champix customer - I have written my story in a thread here called Another Diary of a Champix Quitter - feel free to nose through that and ask anything - I'll do my best to help in any way I can.
My one caviat - we are all different - so just because Day x was hard for me, it may not be for you! (Thank goodness you say!)
Here's hoping you continue on the journey with the positive attitude you have displayed here - good luck and take care!
7 days smoke free
Yes Jase you are probably right....lots of things seem to be annoying me as I look for other things to do besides smoking.....would be a lot easier if hubby wasnt being puffing billy in the car with me:mad:not that I want one....it stinks...LOL...to think that I smelt like that:eek:
And thanks Coaltyt I have read through your diary and well done....you are doing great considering you have had some pretty bad days.......I havnt had a lot of side effects other than a bit windy:Dand a bit headachy...on the whole I feel pretty good.....I wish hubby would give up like yours.......I'm sure he is smoking twice as much!!
My biggest dilemma seems to be after meals.....I feel like somethings really missing....so I have been having a few sugar free sweets. Bought myself a bottle of red to celebrate my 7 days smoke free ....Cheers For now Kez.
I am on day 32 and the oh still smoking is hard to take at times, after meals seems to be the hardest. Last week had to drive for 2 hours and she did not smoke in the car but stoped for coffee so she could have a smoke. To be fair it cant be easy on them and my kids are giving her a hard time about not stoping.
And yes the temper can be quick at times
Going to reduce my patch today to the 7mg and then ct next week:eek:
Good luck and keep with it
Hi Irvend.....makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one having these problems.....keep it up you are doing well!!.....I'm still going good with the non smoking....I have had lots of smokers around me on the weekend and havnt felt like having one which is good. One of my friends and her other half are going to the docs to get a script today...as she is so impressed by me:eek:fancy that!! Her and I were talking about it heaps b4 so I think she is ready now.....so I am pleased to have a positive effect on someone and gives me even more reason for not stuffing up...Cheers for now Kez.
