I have been smoking since I was 14 and I am now 25. I have lost my Nana and my uncle to stomach cancer, a Papa from pneumonia and emphysema, a grandfather from cardiac arrest and my Dad and my father-in-law both have Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and angina. Needless to say, I am very scared.
I have been on the birth cotrol pill since I was 14 as well and I hear that the pill and smoking is terrible and increases the chance of blod clots.
I got a cold last year and it turned into pneumonia and bronchitis - ewww it was horrible and I don't want to go through that again.
Now would be the prime time to quit because I am still young enough to some what recover from the damage I have done. Almost day 16 and going strong

Dude, any time that you think that you're gonna give in, read your original post. If that aint enough to scare you, nothing is gonna be.
You're young - and obviously smart enough to work out that smoking is just not compatible with hardly anyone (you do get the odd 100year old coffin-dodger kicking about who smokes, but not often !).
Stay off 'em and get yourself back here every time you even THINK about starting again.
Hello NS4M, what an insight you have given us. That story, in itself shows bravery and determination, self knowledge and decisiveness. All the qualities which (I think) are needed to succeed at this life-saving process we are all undertaking.
I'm 57, you're 25, God, how I wish I had had your sense when I was 25.
Anyway.. that's moving towards that irritating thing that old people do: "when I was your age... " blah blah blah.
Hey, you can do this, you have to do this. Let's do this.
