Naproxen is a common painkiller used to treat pain, stiffness, inflammation and fever for many different conditions, and often for severe period pains. It’s an ‘NSAID’, or ‘non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug’, like ibuprofen or aspirin. It can be bought over the counter in the US and Canada but is prescription only in the UK and Australia.
