hi everyone. I’m wondering if you can tell me what dose of Rinvoq everyone started on. I’ve read that some people start on 45mg for 12 weeks and then 15mg after that as a maintenance dose. I’ve only been taking 15mg for a couple of weeks now along with 500mg naproxen twice a day and 10mg of prednisone once a day and I feel I’m just getting worse, I know it takes up to 12 weeks for Rinvoq to work. Any advice is always appreciated 🥰
Rinvoq : hi everyone. I’m wondering if you can tell me... - NRAS
Rinvoq

Hi Lornap1, I've been taking Rinvoq for 2 years now, I've started on 15mg and have stayed at that dose (I've never heard of people taking more than that!). I'm also on 20mg Leflunomide and due to restart Hydroxy in 2 weeks. My rheumy tried to take me off Leflunomide and Hydroxy last October but it seems I really need all 3 meds so am restarting those (had an appointment this week). I'm sorry that Rinvoq's not yet kicked in, keeping my fingers crossed for you, it's working really well for me! All the best, Christine xx
Well, what other people take is only of interest…we all take the dose our medic prescribes & only change it when Doc says so!
People who swap around without clinical guidance are often the last to get the desired effect & feel better.
Hello
I have been on 15 mg of Rinvoq for 2 years now. It is my second JaK, as the first wasn't effective for me.
The starting dose of 45 mg is only recommended for treating Crohn's Disease. !5 mg is the recommended dose for RA and has proved to be very effective in most patients.
However, you are not most patients; you are a unique you. As you feel worse, it is probably a good idea to let your RA team know how bad you are and how much it is affecting your quality of life. Be honest but frank and see if it is a problem. It is what they are there for, even if they are busy. Good luck.
Hello, I agree with previous comments, 15mg is for RA, PSA. Other doses are for other conditions. I was a high responder to Etanercept, it was very fast and made me feel amazing but unfortunately it failed after a couple of years. Rinvoc has taken longer, I did feel worse for a while but after 3 months, I experienced a steady improvement.Everyone is different, so you should discuss with your rheumy team.
Good luck
My wife is just now being switched to RINVOQ 15mg, it's her first JAK inhibitor. Autoimmune is an up close and personal version of Whack A Mole. Take as prescribed and follow up, with your MD, as scheduled.
rinvoq worked for me within a few days. (15mg). I had RA so bad I couldn’t walk for almost 4 months. Tried injectables first but had side effects and didn’t help. Got off prednisone went from 10,5,3,1mg took months. Prednisone really messes up your body, was glad when off it. Only thing I’m on now is Rinvoq. Been on it 2 years. Pain level is usually none now however I do get RA fatigue and have learned not to over plan any day.
I started Rinvoq in December 2024. I'm waiting for it to work at the moment. Things seemed to get worse and to be honest, they don't feel much better. I'm also on leflunomide. I will give it 3 months and do the blood test and see what comes of it. Fingers crossed it will kick in.
