N-acetylcysteine (NAC)

Hello everyone, Is any of you familiar with NAC? Has anybody tried it as an enhancement to current medication or just by itself?

( Acetylcysteine 5% )I have recently discovered it contains preservative benzalkonium chloride which is toxic to the eye. Is this a reason to stop using it or is the preservative not in large amounts? Many thanks

I am wondering if anyone in this site with an MPN has taken N-Acetylcysteine (NAC)? I am aware of the research that Angela Fleischman at Irvine is doing; her study is currently focused on finding optimal dose for MPN patients. The study guidance excludes those on an interferon.

I have recently been prescribed oral acetylcysteine as a mucolytic. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I’m coming at this from a place of desperation really… Has anybody heard of the use of NAC (N-acetylcysteine) to help reduce the effects of TBI?

I can lie in bed and TV which had been an impossibility This trebonN 's ingredients are Acetylcysteine and it's 600mg. Haven't felt so good in years. Has NO RLS in the afternoon either, I couldn't sit and knit or watch TV.i had to be on my feet doing things.

Re: N-Acetlycysteine trial I heard about the use of N-Acetylcysteine to combat inflammation on this site. I asked the Dr. about it and she is currently doing a trial on testing different amounts and its effects on inflammation in MPN's. I am pondering entering the trial.
