I recently had covid, my legs were quiet for qite a while. They did start up again, not too badly. Anyway I had a cough and blocked up nose after covid so the pharmacist told me to take trebon N. I havent had any leg problems and I only take one sachet a day. I dont know of course if its the trebon thats helping. I even went out last night and had 2 glasses of red wine. I was expecting to be on walkabouts all night but no. I slept like a log. The ingredient in this med is Acetylcysteine 600m and its an over the counter med here in Greece. Im not hoping for a lot BUT you never know. Has anyone any experience with this.

Acetylcysteine is a modified amino acid mucolytic used to treat certain lung conditions, and in different forms as an ocular lubricant and intravenously to treat paracetamol overdose.

It's been mentioned here a couple of times over the last couple of years, but somewhat inconclusively.

EHealthMe reports that of 9,194 people reporting side effects when taking Acetylcysteine, 4 people (0.04%) had RLS - much lower than the general population. Don't know how much weight to put on that!

Let us know if it continues to help you!

I suspect it might be the Covid. I slept through without waking after two of my three Covid vaccinations. Those were the only times I slept all the way through in the last few years. I also slept through when I actually caught Covid but only the first day or so. Other people have reported similar, although it is by no means everybody. I have seen some suggestion that your ferritin levels change dramatically when you get a new infection and that this may be part of the reason.

Maybe, it's strange about the ferritin level. I've just had my blood results back and my ferritin is 223 which is much higher than it's ever been. I haven't taken any iron for ages. So you are probably right about the ferritin

COVID definitely causes a spike in ferritin level (probably, because of inflammation?)
