Do you not have hobbies you enjoy, Diversions like gardening can move us on.
If the need arises you can go for a walk, everyone here is allowed to go out once a day, as mentioned before my Wife goes out with Pax in the morning and I take Him for a walk in the afternoon.
This pm we have been outside sitting in the garden, been weeding and preparing a new border in the front of the house. We have also been preparing a new vegetable plot, we had stopped growing our own veg seven years ago, so the plots need a good clean out.before we plant out, we have the beans in and white and gold turnip. Anything to keep your mind on a positive activity.
I love gardening but the gardens done we done it all . Planted pots and stuff. I hate walking . I have been crocheting . I feel better now :). As the days gone on felt better
My Wife is a really keen gardener and she finds plenty of jobs to do, She is putting a new border in the front garden. This afternoon She has been dead heading Dandy Lions and tomorrow she will be using the root grabber to dig out the plant. The problem is all the fruit trees are in flower and we end up sitting down watching the bees buzzing around the flowers. We have nine varieties of apples in flower and it really diverts and prevents working in the fruit garden. We cannot complain we are still eating last years fruit, we finished last years apples about a week ago.
Have you tried an antidepressant? Are you in therapy? Those 2 things help a lot, as well as going to support groups, church, Bible studies, even exercise classes. Of course, you can't do a lot of those things now, but you can get outside and exercise. Exercise releases endorphins which help mental health a lot, and sunshine helps a lot too. I take St. John's Positive Thoughts by Source Naturals. It does help. I was on Lexapro for a couple years, and felt great on that, but I started getting a rash from it. So now I just take the St. John's Wort. I also had a lot of therapy. I also go to Bible studies, pray, and try to stay in touch with people. If your thoughts are negative, they chemically affect your body and lower your serotonin. So staying positive, being around positive people - for me, strong Christians who have fought some real world battles and come out on the other side - have helped a lot.
