Support worker

Hi I just wanted to ask if anyone in the UK has a support worker from the mental health team and how often you get to see them. I had one every two weeks for an hour and now they have decided to take her away because they feel I need a CPN instead and guess what they said I am on a waiting list so have no clue when this will happen. I was so angry because I needed that support and now have no one. I also have been told I have to wait to see my physiatrist as there is a backlog of 5 months waiting. The NHS mental health system is failing us and we need to do something. I would like to hear from anyone with the same problems as me.

What's it like for people aswell not in the UK.

hi my last support worker was only for 8 sessions even though I was told it was going to be long term.been on a waiting list for NHS mental health support for months and months doubt it will be any time soon.

It's not right how long you have to wait. Do you have a psychiatrist

yeah with the virus everything is suffering from back log no psychiatrist not got any support now.

It's really bad, the NHS mental health services are not good unfortunately, they are so under funded. I had to go private to see a psychiatrist because my GP said the waiting list was so long there was no point refering me.
