Hi , I understand why more underage kids are using site's like Health Unlocked,at least the ones from the UK! All the places where youngsters used to go to talk about problems have either closed or no longer have the facilities to accommodate them! The only options left to the youngster's are either their school teacher's or Social Services, talking to my Granddaughter who's friend age 14 had been self harming due to her parents upcoming divorce ,did not want to talk to her teachers because her Mother is a teacher in another local school, she also did not want to speak to Social Services because she felt that her Parents would hate her or tell Social Services to take her to a children's home! Thankfully my Granddaughter and my Daughter are very close to each other not like some Children who rebel from the age of 13ish till their 20's ( my Daughter being an example LOL) my Daughter went with the youngster to her DRs and reminded him about "Patient Confidentiality" so the Girl would actually talk to a professional! Things are going better for her now but things could have turned out a lot worse if she didn't get the help !
I think perhaps Health Unlocked could find a place in the Forum just for them? It's so sad that all they have are unregulated sites that tell them" To go kill themselves" or " Cut deeper" it's sinful and it also shows how little Compassion is in the UK's government! I would love to go out and try to help these kids but you can't nowadays you would be branded a pervert and worse, It just goes to show how desperate some kids are Looking for Any site that looks like a professional Health Guidance site ,Like Health Unlocked to try to get advice! I hope the person has found a place to get the proper help or advice that they needed! All the best Derek
I agree x my daughter has had ongoing issue since she was 13 but she is now 18 and there’s no help available depts arguing she is too old for one and too young for another and she being left in the middle ! It appears sometimes that no one cares and it’s taken my daughter 3 suicide attempts to actually be listened to ! It’s heart breaking thankfully she has us but it’s hard to speak to family cis they feel they will get upset !
