So I finished therapy a second time 3 weeks ago, I’m new on here and have anxiety and depression. For the past few days I have been feeling really overwhelmed and low and upset, I can’t eat or sleep properly and I feel really self conscious and guilty even if I’ve done nothing, I’m really struggling and didn’t find cbt therapy that helpful and idk what to do now. I’m getting self harm urges again as well and I’ve been clean 3 months. I feel worse than I did before I went back to therapy but now idk what to do, has anyone got any advice? Xxx

There are many different types of talking therapies out there, CBT is just one, and often the 'cheapest' in the UK as it's the one GP's offer first. But it worth doing a bit of research to find one that may meet your needs better, and sometimes the cost can be reduced through a local charity who may be providing support. I would suggest that you speak to your doctor and/or local mental health team and get their advice. Tell them how you are feeling, and get their support. When you say you're are getting 'self-urges' what do mean exactly?
Ok, folks, can you offer some helpful suggestions and welcome this new member onboard?
Keep in touch,
MAS Nurse

The problem is CBT and medications are only two parts of a possible recovery.
Generally it takes the patient to also try and help themselves and fulfill the coping techniques that should have been explained to you and consider what was discussed in CBT and how to approach the problems that have caused your problems in the first instance. There are about nine or ten different types of CBT. As explained above you have had two courses of treatment so now you should be part on your way to move on through life with the verbal techniques given to you. You know the reasons hopefully that caused your Depression, you have the tools use them
MAS Nurse has given you some information that should help.
Remember generally the Patient needs to use techniques provided, generally however it generally falls back to the Patient to help themselves with the encouragement given by Health Professionals and any medications supplied
