My Forgiveness
When someone is working hard to change, the worst thing you can do is hold them to their past. Forgive them and help them transform.
Holding a grudge doesn’t make you strong, it makes you bitter. Forgiving doesn’t make you weak, it sets you free.
I never knew how strong I was until I had to forgive someone who wasn’t sorry, and accept an apology I never received.
When someone does something wrong, don’t forget all the things they did right.
Everyone makes mistakes in life, but that doesn’t mean they have to pay for them for the rest of their life! Sometimes, good people make bad choices. It doesn’t mean they’re bad… It means they are human.
They caused the first wound, but you are causing the rest; this is what forgiving does. They got it started, but you keep it going. Forgive and let it go, or it will eat you alive. You think they made you feel this way but when you wont forgive, you are the one inflicting the pain on yourself.
None of us should be defined by the worst thing we have ever done.
When another person makes you suffer, it is because they suffer deeply within themselves and their suffering is spilling over. They do not need punishment, they need help. That’s the message they are sending.
Forgive anyone who cause you pain or harm. Keep in mind that forgiving is not for others. It is for you. Forgiving is not forgetting. It is remembering without anger. It frees up your power, heals your body, mind and spirit. Forgiveness opens up a pathway where you can persist despite what has happened to you.
