Post Vascetomy pain syndrome

16 years on and still having issues which have now come to a head because they are worse and constant.

It is now interfereing with my life 24/7 and before i realised PVPS was a thing i was worried i was going to find out i had something terminal wrong with me

there needs to more awareness because if i knew this was a possibilty i would never have had a vascectomy

it used to be just regular epididymitis which is bad enough but now i get the pain in my groin too so seems both part of the cut tube are now having issues on the left side

ultra sound next week should confirm what is going on

That really sucks. PVPS is a pretty rare complication affecting 1 or 2 men out of every 100 that receive vasectomies. I'm assuming you have tried all of the non-surgical remedies to no avail. There is some hope that the pain can be alleviated using surgical methods including a reversal of the vasectomy. But there are no guarantees - sadly a small number of men that develop PVPS never find relief. It is amazing that this is never mentioned by the doctors preforming vasectomies but then most doctors don't discuss the possible side effects of prostate cancer treatment or most other treatments either. Best of luck finding a resolution.
