Hi,
Does any one have any experience with post sepsis syndrome?
I had sepsis in April this year, but I am now feeling exhausted, physically and mentally. Is this normal and what can I do?
Thanks

From your past posts, I think it's all closely linked in with your home situation. Ideally you need to work on improving your fitness, organisation and control of your situation. You must get good systems in place and help from your family to plan a reasonable arrangement of responsibilities or else employ a cleaner, helper or someone.
I'm trying to deal with an issue at a time. If I can deal with my stressors then I'll be able to manage the other ones better.... (i hope...)
I am suffering from post septic syndrome. It is awful, and I've heard can last for quite awhile. I became septic in December 2016, and died. I was resusitated, and remained I. Critical condition in the ICU for 2 weeks, the hospital for a month and a half total. Now I am suffering from insomnia, I have absolutely no energy, I can't see good at all, and my hair is falling out in clumps! Most do not survive Sepsis, it is very serious and does wipe you out completely. Take a really good multi vitamin daily, take an iron supplement, and if you are able to sleep and rest whenever you can! I have 2 young kids so that is not an option for me unfortunately, because that is really what we need. Good luck to you!
I had sepsis and went into septic shock on 5/20. I am very exhausted all the time, have multiple pains pretty much all over my body (especially chest which get way worse if I am upright all day and don't lay down for a while). My brain seems foggy sometimes and I forget things or write them down wrong (like appoint times or dates I'm writing while talking to the person making it for me); I had double pneumonia, pyelonephritis and acute respiratory failure and had to get a central line for vassopressors because my bp was dangerously low and they couldn't get it up. I still feel like I have a uti but my dips and cultures come back negative. I also trouble with constipation (even though my primary doc tells me I should be having the opposite problem from all the antibiotics) and I also have insomnia. My understanding is that all of this is normal for PSS and the hair loss (about 50% of pss patients) doesn't start till around 2 to 4 months out. I've also read from other survivors that if you get the panic attacks that they don't seem to roll around till after most of the other symptoms have improved. My primary understands all my complaints and says they are normal and that most survivors do eventually get back to normal. If your primary doesn't understand your problems, the Sepsis Alliance has a letter you can print out and give to your doc. Hope this helps
I had septic shock on Dec 17 2017. The surgeon butchered me and took out part of my colon without my consent. I still wish I’d died. I can’t get past the huge scar on my stomach. I can’t live like this. I’ve given myself till May 1 to get over this. I also stopped taking any meds or talking to stupidity doctors. Now my hair is coming out. I wish I’d died.
