Hi guys had my op Friday 7th September midday and this is my progress four days or so on.

The bandage was taken off yesterday and ever since it's been completely free its so so sensitive and painful that I can't wear no clothes whatsoever not even baggy underwear...(also I'm afraid of wearing underwear just in case pulls and yanks stitches off)

I'm using Vaseline alongside the tablets distributed from the hospital too of course

I don't know whether this progress is good or not or whether you guys can see an issue!?

Any help and advice to hiring sensitivity even a tad will be greatly!

Also do these stitches look good to you guys because it feels right but maybe that's me adjusting to this being completely new ( as I had the op due to severe phimosis)

I naturally and have been blacking out when applying anything near to the gland also which is tricky :/

Also when can I have baths as normal because of my stitches and would you recommend using salt?

Many thanks guys

Hi, welcome to the club!

Yours looks really tidy! Very similar to mine although I have a few little clots where some stitches burst due to erections. You'll get advised to do salt baths & ice cube massages which really do help the process, I'm 8 days today and I'm still tender, had a bad night last night with nocturnal erections but unfortunately just have to put up with that. I haven't put the vasalineon my head as I wasn't sure it was beneficial, do you recommend it?

Cheers buddy been looking about these posts from just before my procedure aha!!

And any particular salt or is there specific types people find that work for them?

And bad nights is a constant thing for me, not so much erections but mainly just not laying in positions I used too be able too aha!!

And I wouldnfor a while it seems to have helped a bit! Just a little annoying to clean off at times but nothing too major pal

Well I had both sea salt and regular table salt in my cupboard so use both, sea salt is the best by all accounts though. I was originally signed off for a week but thankfully saw my nurse last week and she signed me off for another week as my job requires lifting & being in & out a van all day so not ideal for recovery. I haven't been using vasaline as I just thought it delayed the reduction of sensitivity on the head so I'm still walking like I've shit myself & occasionally get stinging pains from the odd places were the stitches have opened but otherwise it seems to be going okay.

I'm just hoping to be more comfortable by the weekend.

I'll have a look around to see if I have any!!

And that's great news I can't even walk tbh or put clothes on so I'm well away yet aha!!! Stitches are a right pain tho

Also do you think it would be a good idea to see a nurse at my local doctors to have it looked over just for greater peace of mind it's healing well? As at the hospital they said nothing about going back aha

Yeah I saw the nurse at my GPs on the 4th day as it looked messy & I was paranoid it had got infected. She assured me it was fine & said she was expecting it to look much worse! It is a bit odd that we don't get given follow up appointments as it is a serious operation really considering the last place you want any complications is your knob!! Glad I found this forum as it's ideal to discuss concerns & share experiences. I can't fault the NHS but the aftercare advice wasn't too clear imo.

I may ring them up in the next day or two to just have a once over and rest to see how far I can walk etc!

Also I agree I respect the NHS and the people were nice but the aftercare just gave me a coffee and in a way felt a tad pressured to leave an hour after coming around
