Hi guys,

Just joined this forum hoping to hear back from people who are in similar situation. I am soon graduating from University and rather than feeling happy and proud, I am feeling very unhappy and uncomfortable with everything. I am very sociable person at university but there is not awful lot going on where I live. Additionally, I am feeling slightly nervous/worried about not having anything to look forward to as I would usually do at university such as lectures, night outs, dinner parties etc. I want to know how others cope with this life transition and any recommendations to go through it will be greatly appreciated.

Life doesn't end after uni, trust me.

Granted, if you lived in a city for university where there were lots of things to do, and move back home or to a place where there is barely anything to do it can be daunting but it isn't the end of the world :).

Surely you must have friends where you live at?

Also, not sure if you have a job or not, but in case you do, there isn't really that much difference other than maybe not being able to go out during the week and get drunk as you need to go to work the next day (that however may depends on how well you cope with being hungover). In fact, if you have a job, there are a lot more things you can do as you can afford them more easily. Though the kind of fun you have might differ, but that comes more with age than being at uni per se.

I remember my first year, going out every weekend, sometimes even during the week. Then in second year I would have gone out maybe once every two or three weeks and in third year maybe once a month or two (by that I mean going out and getting smashed), meeting up with friends and going somewhere for food or a couple of beers was still somewhat regular.

Life after uni is what you make it to be honest. I liked uni but I also like working and life after uni, feels like having more purpose for me. It is subjective though.
