I've been on the waiting list for about 8 months for a circumcision due to phimosis(im 18 and the tightness got to the point where it got difficult to go to the toilet and it's effecting my sex life) I told the doctor this and it feels like this is a big long to wait.
Any comments would be helpful.

The operation takes hardly 15 minutes to 30 minutes with local anaesthesia, stitching and bandaging. Few days course of antibiotics required . Urine is sterile , so no chance of infection from inside. You have not written why you are waiting for 8 months. Whether your doctor is worthless or busy , or are you frightened ? Go ahead.
The Phimosis affecting your sex life would not bump you up the waiting list, but having difficulty urinating should. I am afraid the best advice would be to keep on at your Doc and hope for the best. Waiting lists vary depending on area and urgency. Mine was within days of visiting Dr but that was due to possible cancer, which thankfully it was not. Sorry I cannot be more positive.
Don't get circumcised,it will spoil your enjoyment of sex for life ,you ask any woman if she prefers foreskin, or no foreskin the reply will be foreskin 80% the other 20% have never tried it,the reason being that Sex is more sensative for both of you when you have a foreskin.

Don't do it you will regret it, it will return to normal eventually, most women prefer a man with foreskin they have a better sex because the end of the penis is sensitive if youre circumcised your bell end will feel like a gravel path and you will find it harder to masturbate, be patient, look up how to cope with your conditioned, they are stretching exercises you can do it takes a long time but it's better and being circumcised look up online about it you will find plenty opinions of what to do, all the best

In 2-3 months, you could easily have cured the problem with treatment for yeast and stretching. You still can.
