So I know it is likely another balantis post exists however my question is quite specific and none seem to help. I recently had thrush, which has been treated with clotrimazole 1% cream. This was started 6 days ago and itching has pretty much all gone. The issue I have now is the foreskin has started tightening leading me to think it may be balanitis. Is it usual to get this after thrush? And could the cream be making it worse? Not sure if I should carry on with cream until everything is gone or stop the cream now the itching has ceased. Anyone?

Hi mate, mine started the same way. After a year of trying to fix it, nothing worked, it got tighter and tighter with little splits and scaring and I finally got circumcised 16 days ago. Wish I did it sooner! Not gonna lie, the recovery process is pretty grim but so worth it in the end. Go see a urologist 👍
So, what else is in the equation? Are you using soap to wash inside your foreskin? Have you been taking antibiotics? Both contribute to thrush outbreaks. Clotrimazole is the best line of defense, so continue twice daily. You could try an application of plain yogurt to get a bacterial colony re-established. It’s not likely you have a bacterial infection as balanitis is nearly always a form of yeast. Circumcision is not a valid remedy, so get that out of your mind. drelastic.com has simple exercises to get back flexibilty.
Well I did read the first reply and assume that was way to drastic. Have taken a course of antibiotics the week before, added to which done a 3 day camping festival towards the end of course so also let hygeine slip (don’t judge I was washing out of bottles). Have used the cream for 8 days now and seems to be getting better, just a bit concerned as the tightness doesn’t seem to be. Itching has completely gone so not sure if I should stop with cream or carry on until the tightness has gone as well? Also going on holiday with partner in two weeks so would like to get sorts by then lol
Continue the Clotrimazole for at least ten days. Understand that it does not loosen the tightness. Do that by stretching. Stay off soap for washing internal parts. Be sure to take condoms on the trip, and use them.
