Help with Phimosis.

As long as I can remember I've never been able to retract my foreskin at all, both while flaccid and erect, I'm currently 16 and it's really affecting me mentally. I'm incapable of seeing a doctor as my self confidence is pretty much zero. I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do at all, I've heard of steroid cream but I'm not sure how effective that is, I'm just looking for some advice that doesnt end up with my having to get my foreskin sliced off.

Steroid cream can be bought over the counter. Hydrocortisone 1%.

Seeing a doctor shouldn't be a great worry and they can give you the stronger creams like betnovate

Usually these will do the trick and circumcision will not be required

Goldfish,

Reading your post took me back to my youth and into my middle age as an adult. I suffered exactly the same problems year after year after year. So I empathise and sympathise with you.

Unfortunately when I visited my doctor after a frightening episode of paraphimosis, steroid creams of the right kind were not available. After examining my inability to retract my flaccid penis - let alone erect - she referred me to a urologist for circumcision.

Today, you have the benefit of very effective, topical steroid creams to tackle phimosis and thereby loosen the foreskin's natural elasticity. This will enable retraction as nature intended - and leave you with a perfect penis!

A circumcised penis is a crippled penis.

Hello I'm Nick. A good andrologist should give the best alternative for you. Many men are circumcised and their penises are functionally and also esthetically ok. Today other less invasive surgery techniques exist as well. But even full circumcision must not be seen as a mutilation. Someone maintain that circumcised men are less prone to sexual infections. Moreover, the naked glans develops a slightly thicker skin that could reduce the urge of ejaculation. So circumcised men could be more long lasting lovers! Hebrews are circumcised and also many American men. They are perfectly healthy lovers. So do not panick about circumcision.

Wouldn't being circumcised decrease pleasure from sex?

Well. Opinions are not homogeneous. Someone says circumcision deprives you of the pleasure deriving from your foreskin. Consider that the glans and not the foreskin is the main source of pleasure. Some other says that because after circumcision your glans skin becomes a little more thicker, you should be able to postpone ejaculation and so prolong pleasure for you and your partner. As I told you, don't be ashamed and don't panick. Go to a good andrologist who will find the best solution for you. You may not even need surgery. Or you may need minor surgery which spare your foreskin. And even if full circumcision is necessary don't panick. Your penis deserves the best possible treatment. Even staying with a narrow foreskin can reduce the pleasure of sex or sex could also become painful. Would you like to stay all your life with this problem? I don't think so. So be courageous and take a medical appointment with a specialist. Maybe he will tell you that you did not need anything but waiting. For example I had phimosis when I was a child but during adolescence it resolved without any intervention. And the same for my son. I think you could be my son. If my son had your problem I would advice him to go to the specialist. Let me know! Nick

Thank you so much for your advice, it's a relief to know that there are others who have experience with my situation.

Many men have phimosis. I served the army for an year and I saw lots of youths with your problem. The goog news is that it is absolutely curable! Be happy. You'll find the best solution for yourself with an andrologist!

Yes it does; and I speak from personal experience. Sex as nature intended requires a foreskin in the act of sexual intercourse with a female. Each thrust to and fro allows an exquisite gliding action within her vagina and also stimulates her clitoris to perfection. This gives the male the ability to keep himself erect and even slow down or stop while he waits for his partner to approach climax. At which point he can thrust faster and climax himself.

By all accounts I have come across (and in my own experience), a circumcised man has to use his penis in a jack-hammer action which gives little pleasure to his partner. I have known both worlds, before and after circumcision.

On the Men's Health Forum, there's information on phimosis here:

menshealthforum.org.uk/phim...

and circumcision here:

menshealthforum.org.uk/circ...

But as other contributors have said, there is a lot you can do short of surgery. So have a read.

I know this post is 7 months old but im sure other men suffering with this condition is still gonma come across it, i had quite a bad case of it and with 2 weeks non stop stretching using the 2 finger method i was able to full retract it with out any steroid creams. The thing what i done was pull the inside bit of the foreskin all the way up so it was all getting stretched and so it would roll properly just stick to these stretches and i guarantee you'll have no bother retracting the foreskin in no time.
