Hi All,
I am struggling with stress at the moment, work, home and post illness (Sepsis). 1 or 2 GPs are sympathetic, the rest are not. Was told last year " to just get on with it"...
Any ideas with coping strategies??
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark. Your certainly going through hell ATM, in times of stress, because i have dementia i try to find a distraction to take my mind of my troubles. It does help or put the head phones on and sail sesy with the music, Dont listen to heavy metal i didn't find that jelpful at all Lol.
I hope you van rid your self of your stress.
Thanks Phillip.
I do try to listen to music, get more time in work to do that! it's a shame as I have the new Metallica album to listen to ;-).
all joking aside, i have very little time to do anything with family life and work, so this is exacerbating the issue. so I'm stuck in a never ending cycle!
Hope you are coping.
Thanks again.
Mark
Mark, try the Men's Health Forum's Beat Stress service - email or text chat with a stress expert. Free and anonymous. Go to:
beatstress.uk
Good luck with it
Thanks Jim, I did look at it last night and couldn't find anything helpful. not sure whether it's the layout of the site or my mental capacity..... will try again!
You can send an email or, on Wednesday night 7-10pm, text chat direct with a stress expert. Just tick the box that says 'I accept the Terms and Conditions and I live in the UK' and click the highlighted button and you'll see the options. There's also a good video up there at the moment which may bring a smile to your face. It did mine. All the best, Mark.
have emailed in, it was easier to summarise it!! but really do think I'm broken!!
Hi Mark, It might be worth examining your psychological make up which may be exacerbating the issues you are experiencing, for example:
Do you tend to anxiously brood on things? Brooding will perpetuate the negative thoughts/feelings. Solution: Train your imagination to view a positive outcome. Do some physical exercise to get the endorphins going.
Do you tend to catastrophise? To turn mole hills into mountains? Solution: Learn to step back and seek perspective.
Look up to the sky/ceiling and genuinely smile. You will find that the negatives disappear while you do so. Check your general body posture: Stand up straight and relaxed, this helps you feel better.
Turn to do service for other people. This helps a lot when you feel unable to help yourself. So do good, charitable acts. This is good for the people you help, but also proves you that you are a good guy.
There are many other aspects and solutions to explore. You CAN get better. Contact me further if you wish. Take care now
Have messaged you directly.
