I got circumcised exactly 2 weeks ago. I needed to go through the operation as I had what was lastly diagnosed as aerobic balanitis. The surgeon told me that the balanitis that has spread over half of my glands and the tightness of the foreskin will disappear immediately. It's been 2 weeks and I can still clearly see the area that's infected.
For those of you who had to go undergo the surgery because of the same condition, how long did it take you to see your glands back to normal?
I read that the keratinization process might cut it, but yeah... I just hope it will disappear soon; that it just needs some more time.
Thanks in advance!

I haven’t noticed any difference in texture of my glans penis. Of course, it isn’t as sensitive to touch when flaccid as it was previously (which is just as well).
Sorry, you’re asking the wrong person about this as I don’t really subscribe to the keratinisation theory. The skin doesn’t physically get thicker, it just loses sensation. This was proven by the BBC science programme ‘Horizon’ many years ago.
Circumcision will not, of itself, cure balanitis but it will remove the dark, moist space that harbours the infection that causes it. It also makes it easier to apply any prescribed medication.
At present you will have a lot of swelling that effectively maintains the hiding place for the infection, but as that goes away and the glans becomes fully expose with its sulcus, the infection should be able to be completely brought under control. Just give it time.
